What do they know about nurses?

TV producers...... What do they know about nurses? I mean REAL NURSES. Obviously not much with the way they portray and minimize the role of nurses on all the the medical shows. It almost makes you want to scream. What are some of the most ridiculous portrayals of nurses you have ever seen?

Low cut blouse and short skirts on the soaps. Their hair is always nice and they do nothing but stand around all day.

I had a friend that went to nursing school based on what she saw on TV. She thought it looked glamorous and easy!!!

She left nursing shortly after! She HATED it! She is now happily teaching school!

When the show ER first came out, I felt they did a pretty good job in portraiting nurses and physicans roles, and they got a lot of the medical stuff right. I like the fact the producers also showed the human element of being in the medical field and the demons this line of work can produce. Being and er nurse for 25 plus years. I have seen alot.

M*A*S*H was pretty good, IMHO (for the time,) and ER was pretty good. I HATE House (where the docs do everything) and any shows where all nurses do is flirt. But reality would scare people....

Ugh, I can barely make it through an episode of House without wanting to scream. Granted, it's just a TV show but still.
