TV producers...... What do they know about nurses? I mean REAL NURSES. Obviously not much with the way they portray and minimize the role of nurses on all the the medical shows. It almost makes you want to scream. What are some of the most ridiculous portrayals of nurses you have ever seen?
Ooh...Don't get me started on Grey's. On 1 show, a doc was talking a/b preparing for another doc's baby shower, & he said something like, "Keep it classy; this isn't for some nurse who couldn't keep her legs together." On another show, a doc told a patient to fetch a nurse to find him a remote for the TV. Nurses rarely had a presence on the show, unless it was as a casual romantic interest to one of the docs.

Wow. Shame on those writers.
I can't do greys anatomy. The first few episodes were good, IMO, when the focus was on Meredith's mom and her Alzheimer's dx. Also, when the new docs all tried to get in on procedures reminded me of nursing school. But then the focus of the show seemed to change to sex. And I did notice they portrayed doctors doing stuff nurses do. All I could do was lecture my son while watching it. Nurses do this. Nurses do that. also grays anatomy portrayed the nurses negatively-as stupid women or sex toys.
However, I am in love with ER! Love love love that show. I've bought the first few seasons used and on anazon.

I thought I was the only person who detests House! One of the worst medical shows ever. St. Elsewhere was not bad, ER also not bad. One of the least realistic nursing representation...Dr. Kildare!! LOL just dated myself.
