Hi all, would like to know what things about your job keep you there??? Seniority, pay, benefits, convenience, professionalism, experiences, working conditions, mentorships, etc.???
Let us know.
Thanks,
Lee
I love working agency, I work in different ICU's in 2 different hospitals, I have been doing this long enough to feel comfortable at both places. It is amazing to see someone so sick that you think are at deaths door actually recover. I also love the flexibility of my schedule and I like the change from one unit to another, you never get bored. The money is great also.
Ah, as a friend of mine said while I was bemoaning the horrors of my boss, "the grass may be greener, but it still has brown spots."
After wailing for a month and threatening to go become a librarian, I have to say it's for the vision that things just might get better in the world of nursing and the CNO seems to think I bring some value to the organization. Some days I don't think my boss thinks I bring any value but the CNO does, and that counts.
I just changed jobs, and the thng that may just keep me here is the way managemnt supports nurses in their professional growth. I jut abut crapped myself when I was told I can go to conferences (free) and they will pay for me to take extra courses for my certification or to be trained in another area. They are even sounding like they will let me getonto an all night rotation and let another nurse do all days.
Working Monday - Friday with weekends and all holidays off. Took this job till my son graduates. Been here 8 1/2 years now. My son graduates in May 2003. May look at different options then. Oh yeah, they also pay my license renewal fees every year. They pay for all my CEU's yearly and pay me to attend. They have 100% tuition reimbursement, free scrubs and a 75.00 twice yearly shoe allowance.
Hmmm?? maybe I'll stay awhile after next May :)
