I have been MIA from allnurses for a long time so I decided to start a topic...I just received my "nurses week" gift from my management team at the hospital were I work. Last year we got a pen and this year we got one of those tall aluminum bottles that keeps your drinks cold/hot, with the hospital logo on it!! Yay! *sacrasm over* At least we got a useable gift.
Curious on what other facilities have done or currently doing for their staff for nurses week. Please share.
A large enough insulated lunch bag with a logo "Caring hearts; caring hands", a pen, a badge holder with our hospital logo, candy in the bottom of the lunch bag, and a hospital-wide luncheon yesterday. It is Hospital Week as well so we've been doing things every day here. Monday was dress up as a movie star. Etc.
From management: Cake (which my kid loved). From administrative staff on campus: a nice mug that holds 16 oz or so AND fits in my car's cup holder. But from one classroom came these amazing hand-written notes: "You are SODA Bomb" (with a gift card to Sonic), "We are Nutella about you" (the ez-eat Nutella spread with crackers), gum ("Thanks for going the EXTRA mile)... Teachers are super-creative.

Zilch.
My employer never even realizes that it's Nurse Appreciation Week.
