What was the cost of your LPN school

Wow, after reading some of these tuition costs, I feel a little ripped off! :angryfire I went to Concorde in So. Cal, started in Oct 2003, graduated in April 2005 (weekend clinicals and 1 day of theory a week) and it cost me....get ready.....22K! Luckily I got a majority of the tuition picked up in grants and stafford loans. Had to pay the rest out of pocket! But tuition included everything...books, uniforms, stethescope, scissors, etc. Even the fee for taking the NCLEX (only one time though)! But looking back on it, some of the clinical sites were some of the best learning experiences of my life. I'm taking my NCLEX on Aug 2nd, so hopefully all that learning for the past 22 months comes in handy! :rotfl:

My LPN school was also hard to get into, and hard for some people to make it through. The total cost was approximately $16,000 which did include the NCLEX book review and testing fees.:)

Mike, I take mine on aug 2nd too! but I am in Jersey. What are you doing to study? I have been doing saunders cd. Good Luck!!!! hopefully well both make it!

I've been using the saunders cd too, it's great.Also, the nurses and docs at the hospital ER that I am working at, as soon as they found out when I am taking the NCLEX, have been quizzing me every chance they get!It's really been helping me out a lot.I wish us both the best of luck on Aug. 2, study hard and hope we pass! :)

my program is from Aug8 to Jun8, 8800 plus uniforms, registration fees for boards, cost of boards, school supplies, and whatnot.

I was able to get a pell grant, and gallagher grant, for up to 6000, and i took a student loan on the rest.

Mine cost right around $3000. Our school has had a 100% NClex pass rate for the last 3 years I think.

A friend of mine chose to go to another school which cost her almost $20,000. We looked that school up and its pass rate is 85%. What does that tell you?

That $20,000 school is all about the money not about creating a top notch program to teach top notch students.

Be very very careful with these schools that are not actual colleges. We have a situation going on right now where the local hospitals will not hire LVN's because of grad's from a local "school" who apparantly couldn't do what the hospital was expecting a new grad to be able to do. So for now they have stopped the hiring of any LVN's until the lawsuit (yes I said lawsuit) has been handled.

It is kind of a scarey thought.

Here in Tx you can go the the BNE website and look up pass rates of each school that is accredited. That is the first place I would go for your state. Check accrediation, then check the pass rate.

My School Charges 5200 A Semester, And The Program Is 3 Semesters. The Last Semester Is A Little Cheaper Cause Its Shorter

I attended my PN training at a privately run technical school. The price was about $12 g for everything (including books and uniforms). The instructors there weren't very good, and they were at times incredibly unprofessional. It was not worth the price IMO.

Hi. I'm starting in Sept. I'm 39 yrs old and I applied for a loan at the school... and got it !! Basically, my school costs $4500 first semester and $5500 the second. All I'm paying for the 1st is $600 and I'll need to reapply for a loan before I begin the 2nd semester.

Books are not included here. They cost abt $ 170. Of course you'll need scrubs ( I bought 2 sets ), stethescope, shoes, etc, which totalled approx $300.

Mine says 3200 pays for it all, wohooooooo wow thats cheap.
another girl on here said hers is gonna cost 12000 now that is quite a difference
what is the average cost across the U.S. Im in OK going to a technical school
