Here in East County San Diego the LVN school is $2,000 which includes books, supplies, and insurance. You buy your own uniforms. It is ROP and is tax supported. I think $20,000 is a rip off.
Perhaps. But in the SF Bay Area, LVN programs at CC's have waiting lists, just like the RN programs. Also, for a single person with a day job trying to do a career switch, there is only one LVN program with evening classes in the Bay Area. The price tag - you guessed it - $20K.

Hi all, I just graduated from a LPN program last night. My school was 3100 plus books and uniforms and a few other little fees. It wasn't bad. There is a school here that is private and they charge 20,000. It is much easier to get into though. When I got accepted it was only 45 accepted out of 500. Good luck to you all. Nancy
Hello Nancy - my name is Jill - I am moving into CT within a months time and I am interested in finding an LPN program (obviously the less expensive the better). I am having trouble finding one over the internet. What school did you go to and where is it located? How long did it take you to get your LPN?
Thanks a bunch!
Jill

New England Tech in New Britain is an easy and very good school I have been told by many of my friends that couldn't get in the regualer Adult Vocational School, me and my fiance'e were excepted into the program with no problem what so ever and they go an evening program also even thought the program is kinda expensive believe me it's worth it, TRUST ME.... My program in Tennessee was app. $2700 total from the vo-tech in 1999-2000.
In terms of return on your money, it was well worth it. Not many schools offer a year of school for that price and can turn you out with an income of $28,000+ a year. In fact, I am going to gross over $45,000 this year, which is more than I can expect to make in my first year as an RN. Won't be too fun at tax time, though.
