Nurses Uniform/Gear
Published Mar 16, 2007
I'm a Crocs addict. In fact, I wear a pair almost everyday. My nursing school will not allow Crocs so I have to find something different. I don't want granny-like white shoes. I want the cool-dude shoes.
So tell me, what are they?

I have a pair of the all white dansko professionals. they were expensive but very much worth it. i have lower back problems due to a curve in my low thoracic spine but with these shoes, I feel no pain!

I think I am going to get a pair of these MBT's:http://www.walkerswarehouse.com/store/product.asp?Product_Code=WM-7024&Category_Code=brand_wmThey are really expensive and look kind of dorky, however, they are supposed to be excellent for your feet, knees, and back, while also giving your legs and core a workout! I figure that I won't have much time at all to work out once I start school, so I'll take my exercise where I can get it. They don't have that particular style at Zappos.com, but they do have lots of consumer reviews of other styles, and people seem to really love them.

these seem a bit high maintenance to me, --->
I bought a cheaper pair of dr. scholl's and they aren't bad, they serve their purpose as my school was very picky about which ones we wore, I'm searching for a more comfy pair that conforms to school standards (the hospital I'm going to work at allows all white leather tennis shoes) this summer before last year when we have much longer clinical days

I LOVE my Berkies..... They are a godsend to my plantar fasciitis and heel spurs.
I used to wear shoes by the Body Co from Kmart.... threw them in the washer/dryer all the time... they were leather, and said that they were washable....
whatever you choose.... make sure they are comfortable... I am miserable when my feet hurt.

If the grannies are more comfortable than the fashion statements, comfort wins for me.

I like my Crocs (but only the ones with no holes!)... I also like a Reebok shoe called "Time and a half" White leather, mid-high, really comfortable when you add an insert. My Ryka's look really cool, but 8 hours in and my feet are killing me!

I'm looking at the all white leather dansko's. I don't really care what the shoe looks like, as long as it's comfy, supportive, comfy, comfy.

Anybody ever wear Spring Step Professional? They have a wide variety of styles and appear to be similar (in some cases) to Dansko but half the price. So does half the price also mean half the quality and comfort after long hours of wear?

Went dansko, dark brown leather, never looked back :) Replace them every couple of years only because I get grossed out thinking how much pee, tube feed, and propofol I've probably spilt on them!

Here, here! I'm about to start nursing school in the fall and that's exactly what I'm getting (dansko pro's). Comfort first, fashion dead last!!

Oh, see.......I'm only interested in the fashion..nevermind the comfort......kidding!!
I've got to wear the all white classic nursing uniform, I have to wear the proper color underwear, and the shoes have to be "proper white leather Nursing shoes," athletic style shoes are not allowed, so I'm going to go down to the store and try on all the "proper white leather nursing shoes" and see which ones fit the best and are the most comfy.
