I'm a Crocs addict. In fact, I wear a pair almost everyday. My nursing school will not allow Crocs so I have to find something different. I don't want granny-like white shoes. I want the cool-dude shoes.
So tell me, what are they?

....coming from someone that had to clean these things EVERY night as a child, there is a reason, I think, of why the traditional nursing schoes are smooth leather.
Think about all-white tennis shoes, which many hospitals allow now....think about all the "cuts" in the white leather...the edges are raw and almost impossible to clean properly and they absorb a ton of water.
Regular nursing shoes are made with all leather edges "finished"..much like the piping on a pillow to where there are no raw leather edges...this makes sure the shoes can be clean over and over again, and polished.
There used to be a product called "Nurse-White"...it had a baby on one side (for baby shoes) and a pic of a Nurse on the other...it removed not only the black scuff marks, but got them to a brilliant white.
You would put the product on thick...let it dry, then then take a paper-towel and buff it off...which didn't take but a few minutes.
So every night you could have new-looking shoes a brilliant white.

My Nike Shox (the leather ones) have no raw edges. Its one piece of smooth leather w/no holes. Leather should be treated with a water repellant spray and it will make water bead up and roll off similiar to what car wax does for your car(or any fluid for that matter) and it repels dirt/stains so all it takes is a swipe with a damp cloth (I use a Clorox wipe with bleach in it) and the dirt, etc comes right off. Also, I'll wash my leather sneakers (all my sneakers for that mater) right in the washing machine. I've never had a pair get ruined in the washer.
yes, they are so worth the money. I have worn the same pair for the last 2 years and my feet never hurt in them. And they look very cool with every outfit, you can even go for a jog after work .
