What color scrubs does your school make you wear for clinicals??

Updated:   Published

Ours are called "my school name" blue, but I recently learned they are the Landau galaxy blue.

I really like the color! It's better than white, green or that really light blue.

Wait to you hear our colors, We wear pink pants, white button down shirt with pink stripes around sleeve, white shoes only, I really would like to wear blue or green... Only 3 months to go, then hopefully new job any color than pink...LOL Wheart

Oh my goodness, what do your male students wear??

Specializes in Neuro.

We wear navy blue bottoms and Ciel blue tops with navy piping. I actually love them. The girls also have to wear a navy blue shirt under their scrubs because they are kind of low.

I love scrubs...its like working in your pajamas.

We wear navy blue pants, white polo shirts with the school emblem embroidered on the collar, and a navy blue lab jacket with the yellow school badge sewed onto the right sleeve. White shoes, white socks.

we wear a white scrub top (doesn't matter what kind al long as it has 2 pockets) and wine colored scrub pants (also our choice of the kind as long as they don't drag the floor). It isn't that bad at all, but I am looking forward to May so I never have to wear them again!!!!

We have white pants with a green polo and white vest, no scrubs. Definitely not flattering at all!

This is random but does any ones underwear slide down when you're wearing your scrub pants through out the day?

My underwear does not slide down, but my scrub bottoms do! I believe it's because my PDA weighs it down (I put it in my pants pocket, not the shirt one), and when I get a chance, I have to tie the drawstring pretty tight.

For those that wear the white uniforms from head to toe, are you in a RN or BSN program???

We have to wear all white, including white shoes. I didn't like them. One of the instructors perceived that white was very powerful. I perceived that she was wrong.

It turns out that I was right. The uniform isn't powerful because it's white. It's powerful because the only color when you look at me is the patch on my left shoulder. When you look at me, you see my face and my hands. Occasionally, you'll see the rubber from my black stethoscope. My school selects the candidates competitively. The patch represents the grueling journey and rigorous selection process that I endured. Yes. When I walk through the hospital, I know that eyes are on me. My conduct is under constant scrutiny.

The funny thing is that like many of the students before me that had to prove themselves, patients have come to recognize that I'm a student nurse. They seem to feel the energy that I'm trying my best and that in turn, those that are around me are expected to bring out the best in themselves. Like the rest of the team, my focus is on the client. Like my uniform, only the relevant parts are brought forth.

All white isn't powerful... How I've perceived wearing my uniform has changed and become wonderful.

Wow! You just said that so wonderfully and put a totally new spin on the all-white uniform. We too, wear all white and although I would wear anything they told me to wear, am not fond of all white. I am not due to start clinicals for a few weeks but I look forward to seeing the reaction they get. I was thinking that it would only be a spotlight on the lack of knowledge I feel I will have when I start clinicals, but I do hope that it portrays how ready I am to learn all of the new wonderful things that will help me in my new career. Thank you for making me feel so much better about wearing the all-white, bright uniform!

I'm not in school anymore, I just finished last month, but we had to wear white from head to toes (even our head bands or hair ties had to be white).

Mine managed to stay nice and white throughout school, other in my class turned a shade of yellow.

My patients loved seeing us in whites LOL.

So glad to be done and able to wear something other than white.

Once again... Royal blue.

I am also in a BSN program.

White scrub top with navy embroidering on the left upper chest to say LMU (our school's initials). White scrub pants, white plain shoes, navy lab jacket white white embroidering on left upper chest also to say LMU in 1 inch block lettering. They're SO particular, and we have to have it embroidered ourselves.

Gotcha beat....try chocolate Brown Cherokee tops and bottoms.
