  1. Which campus are you applying at? You can try to appeal to the director, I have heard of a few people getting in that way.
  2. Congrats to all that were accepted! I just finished the ADN program at Grenada and I am so excited to be finished!!! Good Luck to all of you!
  3. I just graduated Holmes ADN program...I reside in Kosciusko, and I will work in Greenwood.
  4. I didn't know if this had been posted before, but here it is again if it has. It is the site for FREE nclex 3500...I was so excited when a classmate found this. http://198.146.4.5/nclexrn3500/mainMenu.do;jsessionid=9C612FADC9ED3E43785F4310421CB8AC
  5. try the evolve.elsevier.com website. You can use any of the resources available for free. Just register and look up fundamentals books (or any nursing books); it is broken down by chapters in the books with NCLEX questions. It has been very useful for me. good luck!
  6. we wear a white scrub top (doesn't matter what kind al long as it has 2 pockets) and wine colored scrub pants (also our choice of the kind as long as they don't drag the floor). It isn't that bad at all, but I am looking forward to May so I never have to wear them again!!!!
  7. I am not sure on all of them...You have to fill out a FAFSA and be a resident of Mississippi, I think. Since I have a previous degree I don't qualify for pell grant or federal loans so I don't have to fill out the FAFSA. And you have to show the letter of acceptance from the school.
  8. I just finished my second semester at holmes in grenada....I love it! any questions you have feel free to PM me.
  9. There are many options on the Jackson area for nursing school. Holmes CC in Ridgeland www.holmescc.edu, Mississippi College in Clinton has a BSN program http://www.mc.edu/academics/nursing/, and to answer your question UMC school of nursing is at the medical center downtown jackson. http://son.umc.edu. Good luck
  10. I had to come back for more! Don't forget to turn the test booklet in BEFORE you leave.(YES it did happen, and we were threatened with an incomplete for the semester until it was turned in and this was 2 days before the final. I was freaking out.)
  11. 1. GROW UP! this is not high school 2. Don't try to make everyone feel sorry for you b/c you are poor; we all knew coming into school it would be expensive and if we were all wealthy we wouldn't be in school. you were given an opportunity that many people would love to have. you need to realize we are all struggling here 3. When the instructors say do something DO IT! there is always a reason, and will more than likely be to your benefit later. 4. how do you remember every question on the test? 5. I don't care if you got a bad grade on a test...I have 2 kids and a husband and I am doing very well. You still live with your mom....if you were serious about school it would be your top priority. 6. Just b/c you have a recorder to listen to lecture doesn't mean everyone does so just shut up! 7. And for the love of God...If you have freakin pink eye/stomach virus/flu/(insert sickness here) please seclude yourself from the rest of us who need to remain healthy to take care of a family/ourselves. I am not saying you have to miss class just sit far away from me b/c I would be courteous to you if I were sick.
  12. I think that HolmesCC in Ridgeland does the LPN to RN bridge during the day. There are classes that you have to take in the summer then you go for the fall and spring semesters. Check out the WIN job center and get on the waiting list NOW! they run out of funds quick...I am still waiting; I just finished my first year of ADN at Holmes CC Grenada.
  13. I didn't get my acceptance letter for Grenada campus until mid-May. I had applied at the Ridgeland campus and got the letter that I was a reject in April. I think it depends on the campus you applied for. GOOD LUCK!
  14. Northeast MS community college has an ADN program and Itawamba (in fulton and tupelo) has a program. I think they all offer a bridge program. Here is a link to Itawamba CC. http://www.iccms.edu/division_pages/nursing_associate/ Hope this helps
