I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news. I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

QuoteAccording to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.
Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.
The arrested the guy the next day.
What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.

Gotcha. But it really wasn't "the election of a Republican president". It was the election of Trump. We've been through the election of a Republican president many times. But thanks for clarifying.
One of the few times the last ten years I attended a live protest (Pride doesn't seem to count anymore as a protest) was the women's march after Trump was elected. It was stunning.

The women's march is a great example of that outrage. From your article, the protest was a " rejection of President Donald Trump and his policies".
He hadn't been in office even a week.
Anyway, things have changed a lot in the last 22 years since Bush was first elected.
If a Republican is elected in two years, you don't think we'll see a similar liberal reaction?

An opinion piece by someone who worked for them, btw.
Your lack of humility is astounding.
Thank you for telling me what I was anticipating when you offered up the opinion. It's amazing how clearly you believe that you understand thinking of those outside your media bubble. Is it Shapiro's analysis or The Epoch Times that gives you such insight into the liberal mind? Maybe it's Tucker... you've claimed to be a fan of his previously.
Is my humility, or member humility in general, the topic here?
Meanwhile, would you like to discuss the SLPC or did that opinion pretty much reflect your thinking?

Yes. If the GOP elects the crazy, lying, law breaking authoritarian who is currently trying to undermine our democracy there will be outrage. Patriots and those who love democracy will be offended and outraged if Trump is elevated by the GOP again.
Cult members will celebrate.

It definitely was a rejection of Trump and his ideology, triggered by his "grab 'em by the xxx" comments, but "policies" isn't the right word.
I think the liberal reaction to a Republican president might be strong if it's Trump again but hopefully it won't be of the variety "the election was stolen, stop the steal".
If it's someone other than Trump, I don't think we'll see a similar reaction. There will be a strong reaction for sure but I think liberals will be relieved it's not Trump and the reaction won't be as strong.
QuoteEven as Republican leaders condemn the brutal assault on Speaker Nancy Pelosi‘s husband, other GOP figures are broadcasting a much different message on social media — at turns downplaying, mocking and trading in disinformation about the attack.
Former Republican President Donald Trump has so far remained silent online about the Pelosi home invasion, but his son Donald Trump Jr. retweeted a proposed “Paul Pelosi” Halloween costume featuring men’s underwear and a hammer, saying “The Internet remains undefeated.” Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.), who sits on the House Homeland Security Committee, embraced a false anti-LGBTQ conspiracy surrounding the attack, tweeting and then deleting a postsuggesting the perpetrator was a “male nudist hippie prostitute.”

We'll see. Not as strong still could be very strong...haha, but I know what you mean. And, I hope you're right.

He wasn't a gay prostitute, or fueled by "conservative outrage".
He's a man with mental health and drug issues.
Congress members shouldn't be participating in this. Trump Jr's post was meant to be funny more than factual. One can decide for themselves if it was or not.
I was surprised Musk posted what he did.

I would agree he is mentally ill, but I heard on NPR he stated he planning on holding her hostage as the leader of the pack of lies promoted by the Democrats. So to me it's politically motivated behind the mental illness.
I think trying to make jokes about it isn't appropriate but Trump, Jr. doesn't have an ounce of class.
