I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news. I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

QuoteAccording to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.
Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.
The arrested the guy the next day.
What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.

It's not an opinion. Either they didn't speak with him, or he's lying. Do you have evidence to show it's the latter?

It's his opinion that it is important or in indicative of something bad that they didn't speak with him. I'm clearly not as worked up about this as you. I'm way more worked up about a candidate who intentionally separated children from families at the border and joked about shooting migrants.

"The Los Angeles Fire Department has recommended ending a pilot program that sends mental health workers to non-emergency calls, saying it didn't actually free up first responders and hospital emergency rooms."
It's interesting to me that the LAFD was operating a similar program at the same time that functioned much better because the team was staffed with either an APN or PA along with an EMT who could assess and treat patients.
Regarding the SOTU last night, it seemed like a campaign speech with the same old talking points: can't pass a border security bill, unfair tax policies, right to reproductive care, Ukraine and NATO good, Putin bad. I did like the proposal for a temporary pier to deliver aid to Gaza victims.
I've never cared much for Biden's speaking style, and all the stopping for applause drives me crazy and makes it hard to watch.
The rebuttal speech was just weird.

I pretty much agree. I no longer see a need for these.

QuoteA bill amendment that would potentially roll back protections for Hoosiers against toxic "forever" chemicals is still up for debate in the Indiana Statehouse.
QuoteWith the amendment, chemicals deemed harmful in every other state will no longer be considered dangerous in Indiana, IndyStar writes. Those chemicals wouldn't even be recognized as PFAS, according to the report.
Gosh, look at those Indiana legislators protecting their constituents.
Oh wait.

I think SOTU can be useful for outlining future initiatives. And it is an opportunity for the Commander in Chief to communicate with citizens, with being filtered through an interviewer. But the applause breaks are tiresome and make the whole thing just drags on.
I don't think the SOTU is the place to criticize another administration.

I'm thinking they are afraid of affecting Pence who's family was in the gasoline business and left a trail of toxic sites in Indiana on their way to wealth.

He didn't talk to me and I'm not complaining. What makes you say it's an opinion that the president .didn't talk to the BP? No one is denying that the complaint is true. It's just someone's complaint
