I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news. I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

QuoteAccording to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.
Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.
The arrested the guy the next day.
What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.

I try not to get too hung up on typos given that I produce my comments on a phone and fat thumbs are a family trait.
I did notice that several of our new members during the Trump era don't have any idea how to spell "ridiculous".

I think that there is no danger in the DOJ and state DAs investigating crime and/or the appearance of criminal behavior. I think that there is real danger in allowing powerful people to get away with committing crimes simply because they are powerful. I think that had we prosecuted Nixon that modern Republicans might not think that the presidency is some sort of shield from accountability... which is the way they behave now.
So what if Trump becomes more popular within his cult? He wasn't good enough to win the popular vote in 2016 or 2020 and he's less attractive as a candidate now than in either of those elections. That means that no matter how much his base loves him, Trump can't win. The worry isn't that Trump's inflamed mob will get him reelected, the concern is that they are prone to engage in violence on his behalf.
It is embarrassing to watch a former president engage in such unacceptable and questionable behavior and dialog.
agree. Even as a former leader this should not be the kind of behavior you want the next gen to follow. He's not young, he knows better. He knows how impressionable, naive, and green people can be. It's like that movie 28 days later, a lot of people are now infected with rage, and they don't even know it.
Even if only one person shows up on his behalf, I'm still praying for peace, not one life should be lost because someone may or may not have to go to court. Come on now.

By now, Trump's attempt to assemble and inflame a mob with his words appears predictable and obvious. It's the same shtick over and over. The really crazy part is the number of people who haven't learned anything by observing Trump's actions and results over the years.

Like when Obama told people to get into people's faces. Or Maxine Waters talking about confronting people in restaurants? Pearl clutching leftists are a joke. If we wanted to start something you'd know it.

Which politician invited people to a rally that then descended into a violent riot disrupting the peaceful transfer of power, after telling them to march (with him) to the Capitol? I'll wait for your projection and deflection since you can't possibly admit that Trump is responsible for the gathering, responsible for the election fraud lies, and responsible for directing the agitated mob to march to the Capitol to fight like hell.
Blind and indoctrinated MAGAphiles are the joke and the punchline. You sound like MTG... she's certain that she and Bannon would have "won" 010621. That makes it sound like you are in favor of violently overthrowing the federal government to benefit Trump.
Atlantic article: Trump Did It Again
QuoteIf arrested, he's called on "protesters" to come to his defense.
Sure seems like anarchism to me in TFG recent posts
QuoteAnarchism is a political philosophy and movement that is skeptical of all justifications for authority and seeks to abolish the institutions it claims maintain unnecessary coercion and hierarchy, typically including, though not necessarily limited to, governments, nation states, and capitalism.

Clearly, millions of Americans have been conditioned and indoctrinated to ignore these dangerous details and defend Trump instead.
Now McCarthy is going to investigate those who would dare to hold Trump accountable. It will be an expensive repeat of the Durham debacle. It appears that Trump is trying to intimidate his critics with mob mentality and McCarthy is going to use the federal government to intimidate them.
What a stunning suggestion from a republican member of the House Homeland Security Committee.
"Scorched earth"
She's recommending a scorched earth republican response to the legal processes of law and order. Will other Republicans try to explain that away or will they just ignore it knowing that their voting base doesn't care... if they hear about it at all?

Perfect. If he committed any crimes, then charge him. Thus far, no charges. Pretty strange for "the most corrupt president in history"???
You're right. If any person who committed a crime should be investigated. Might not be good however for Biden and his family.
Too bad the popular vote doesn't matter. Perhaps you can lobby for that election establishment when you lobby for free speech and thought control for certain people you don't agree with.
Embarrassing? Please! Anything that far left demagogues feel is "negative" about Trump titillates them.
subee said:This person may not understand the 1st amendment. It's not illegal to yell fire in the theater but the actions that follow are indictable. What we do know it that Enrique Tarrio spoke with Roger Stone days before the insurrection. And we know that Enrique Tarrio kept in contact with the Oath Keepers. Neither of these facts exculpate Trump.
Then charge him!! Oh wait.......
Until he is charged, this ridiculous argument is moot.
Ypu may not understand the 1st admendment. Someone could talk about a fire in their back yard or a fire in their home to their friend before the movie starts. Someone behind them overhears the conversation, thinks he heard that there is a fire in the theater, screams it and several people are injured. Is the man having a conversation violating the the first amendment? So no body is allowed to talk abput fire in a theater? Lest someone misinterpreted it? Get out. Talk about tolitarian!
So if someone on this forum decides that his neighbor, a Trump supporters is planning to "overthrow the US government" and decided to harm his neighbor, shall all of you be guilty of a crime ? After all its repeated on this site like a fundamental cult over and over. Even suggestions like "this is a movement" and suggesting the Republican party is set to overthrow our democracy and wants a tolitarian regime. Liking the conservative party to dmfacist and Nazis?
Are you responsible for the actions of whomever reads your posts and engages in a crime?
Be careful what you wish for.. And just remember, right now, the constitution applies to both Republicans and democrats.
