I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news. I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

QuoteAccording to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.
Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.
The arrested the guy the next day.
What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.

Things like that.
Yes... Trump was already impeached for improper and unacceptable speech once and he's under a couple of criminal investigations right now for that other speech. Knowing that, I wonder why you would say that the DOJ doesn't think that Trump's speech was "out of line". Why would the DOJ investigate something if they didn't see it as "out of line"? Does that make logical sense to you?
It is frustrating that the Trump investigations have taken so long and that the multiple instances of obstruction of justice aren't even getting action. At least there's actual serious investigation into Trump... imagine how upsetting it must have been for the LOCK HER UP crowd when Clinton didn't even get investigated.
Well. If he "incited his cult and made them storm the capital" and you are so sure, and so is everyone else, why no charges? Jan.6 is a dead moot point at this point unless they charge him. They won't.
Trumps "impeachment" was acquitted in the senate. Forgot that part again. So old moot point number 2.
Why would the DOJ, the Jan 6 committee and every other investigation not result in ANY charges? Well usually that's because there is no crime. That's why. Or at the very least not enough evidence. The laws apply to Trump as well. Must to your dimay I' m sure. Does the DOJ find evidence of crime and just doesn't charge someone? Does that make sense?

It remains to be seen whether or not Trump can still assemble a crowd or where or not they would again engage in violence on his behalf again. His recent events suggest that he no longer has the power to draw large crowds. Unfortunately, lots of conservatives talk about violence as if it's a necessary part of our political discourse... while they pose with guns and other violent imagery.
Or I can read his words. Yes, it remains to be seen what new investigation will happen and the same old no charges.... Again.............
Roitrn said:Do you mean right wing violence or do you mean "right wing agitators" caused the 2020 riots. Like the agitators made the rioters do it? You suggested that the violence of the 2020 riots was because of right wing agitators. I never said a word about "right wing violence" one is an act the other is a name.
So what are we discussing?
Maybe if you read a couple of the citations you would understand.
You aren't discussing anything. You seem to simply be arguing in opposition to anything I post, whether or not you are informed on the topic.

January 6th is currently a under investigation by the DOJ. You may be certain that Trump won't be charged but that is likely a reflection of your media consumption because there's most assuredly a possibility of charges. You seem to be skipping ahead and assuming that there will be no charges.
Trump's impeachment is official and on the books... twice impeached in a single term ...a presidential record.

Again... the investigations have not been concluded...
You can try to read Trump's words but if they are an actual speech you will have difficulty making sense of the word salad. When you read his written words (like Truth Social) it's easier to comprehend his meaning in spite of the misspellings and grammatical errors.

Who is surprised?

Well until he's charged and convicted, then its a played out talking point. Doesn't make sense. All these investigations, no charges. Skipping ahead? For almostv 8 years they have been investigating him for something.
People are sick of it. Not just right wing this or that. Many people are sick of it.
My opinions are my own. They are from several different news sources. Somethings do not require media. Somethings you can see yourself. I and almost everyone in the world see NO CHARGES.
So cross your fingers for another event that can be exploited.

It's easy to imagine that these matters don't make much sense to people who aren't following the investigations or are depending upon Fox News or other right wing media to inform them. After all, regular consumers of that media have difficulty identifying Trump as a liar and are unable to see his failures in managing the pandemic. Some of those people even believe that there were irregularities in the 2020 election that evidence widespread fraud and election vulnerabilities. Those gullible people probably are tired of the investigations... they've been told over and over that the issues are nothing more than a witch hunt.
Yes. Everyone who was paying attention could see the Trump corruption even before he was elevated by Republican voters who were titilated by lies and divisive language. I'm quite certain that Trump will continue to break norms, precedent, societal barriers and laws... are those the events that you talk about exploiting?

Okay. I don't just watch right wing media just like you don't just watch CNN.
People can believe whatever they choose. You cannot police thoughts. Nor should you want to. It might be titillating thinking you can control peoples thoughts and speech. However, it's a very tyrannical dangerous thought.
Everyone who is watching and believed that Trump was a criminal and corrupted and all the other allegations are wondering the same thing. Why has he not be arrested or charged??? I guess left media excites their base by flirting with the idea thatTrump will actually be charged with something? For real. This time forsure.
Do you think that it is a safe precedent to set that law agencies go after presidential candidates? Something that has never been done before? Do you not see a potential problem with that? If they can do it to Trump they can donit to the next Democrat presidential candidate. It's not even done discreetly. This Stormy none sence happened years ago. Why wait until now? Oh yeah, because all other attempts to disqualify him from running again FAILED.
Remember the members of the squad getting kicked off of their comitties? . Some democrats believe that "we ya, we did it first, maybe we shouldn't have" " but but but.......now that the republican majority congrass is doing it back to us", it's its its worse because of retaliation or something" ......
Yeah. You think that this will not open a big stinking flood gate?
It will. And if they arrest him for this, he'll probably become more popular. Either way it's embarrassing to watch.

Maybe you missed that it was Trump who announced a Tuesday indictment... not the media. It's Trump trying to rally his followers with the speculation about arrest.
I think that there is no danger in the DOJ and state DAs investigating crime and/or the appearance of criminal behavior. I think that there is real danger in allowing powerful people to get away with committing crimes simply because they are powerful. I think that had we prosecuted Nixon that modern Republicans might not think that the presidency is some sort of shield from accountability... which is the way they behave now.
So what if Trump becomes more popular within his cult? He wasn't good enough to win the popular vote in 2016 or 2020 and he's less attractive as a candidate now than in either of those elections. That means that no matter how much his base loves him, Trump can't win. The worry isn't that Trump's inflamed mob will get him reelected, the concern is that they are prone to engage in violence on his behalf.
It is embarrassing to watch a former president engage in such unacceptable and questionable behavior and dialog.

This person may not understand the 1st amendment. It's not illegal to yell fire in the theater but the actions that follow are indictable. What we do know it that Enrique Tarrio spoke with Roger Stone days before the insurrection. And we know that Enrique Tarrio kept in contact with the Oath Keepers. Neither of these facts exculpate Trump.
