What caught your attention in the world today?

I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news.  I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

According to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.

Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.

The arrested the guy the next day.

What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.

No, they aren't complaining.  And none of them are forced on the buses or planes.  They are happy to go. So, the 'treated like cattle" comparison falls flat.   Much more humane then creating the chaos that motivated them to come in the first place.  There have been something like 8000 known deaths in the last 22 years of migrants trying to cross the border.  Approximately 1300 of those since Biden took office.

DeSantis already done a good job of explaining why, and it's a relatively small cost vs what it'd be if those folks made their way to FL.  Little political damage to be done to him.  The only people who hate it are those like yourself who hate him already.  The migrants are wanting to go, they are treated well, so other than hating him what reason do you have for it to backfire?

There are a variety of motives for transporting them.  Much of it is indeed political, just like the Democrat motives for letting them come.

I would say the Republicans have done a good job of showing how this influx of migrants uses up resources and disrupts communities.  The mayors of DC and Chicago have complained about how they are overwhelmed by this tiny number of migrants transported to their cities.

Interesting no one has corrected your use of "illegals".  I'm quite sure it'd happened if I had used that term.

We've already noted that discernment isn't a strong skill set among those that elected and continue to pretend that Trump isn't dangerous.

Republican Politics in 2022...

I wonder if it started with Trump when he said "people are too politically correct" and went on to be all kinds of offensive in his campaign...and the crowd cheered.  How many times did you hear during the campaign "I like Trump, he speaks his mind.....".

No doubt Higgins is getting mad love back home.  The more unprofessional and offensive they are and the angrier the left gets the happier  with their representatives they are.

The thing is, his question was legit and deserved an answer and a professional response instead of rudeness.  In my opinion.  Calling a grown woman "boo" and "young lady" is not acceptable talk in 2022.  It's demeaning.  He could have engaged in a good conversation, tripped her up even, had he maintained professionalism.  Instead he went on to be a butt (Terms of Service) in the name of "preserving our Republic".  Please......

I will add that most politicians, including Republicans are civil.

HH: You know the old saying. A prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich if they want to. I’m just asking if there is such a prosecutor and they indict you, would that deter you from running for president again?

DT: I don’t think the people of the United States would stand for it. And as you know, if a thing like that happened, I would have no prohibition against running. You know that. You’ve already stated that.

HH: I do. That’s what I wanted people to understand. That would not take you out of the arena.

DT: It would not. But I think if it happened, I think you’d have problems in this country the likes of which perhaps we’ve never seen before. I don’t think the people of the United States would stand for it.

HH: What kind of problems, Mr. President.

DT: I think they’d have big problems, big problems. I just don’t think they’d stand for it. They will not, they will not sit still and stand for this ultimate of hoaxes. We went through phony impeachments. We went through phony Mueller reports that came out with no collusion. We came, everything that they’ve done to try and stop progress. And on top of that, I did more than virtually any president. You take a look, with the biggest tax cuts, with the rebuilding of our military, with all of the things we’ve done. I don’t think the people of this country would stand for it, especially since they know, especially since they know I’m totally innocent.

HH: You know that the legacy media will say you’re attempting to incite violence with that statement. How do you respond to what will inevitably…

DT: That’s not, that’s not inciting. I’m just saying what my opinion is. I don’t think the people of this country would stand for it.

Sure, sure... that's not inciting, that's just letting people know what to expect and plan for when Trump is indicted... and it sounds like Trump might be preparing to be indicted.

This fellow, and his political movement as excused and ignored by the GOP, is a dangerous threat to our country.

On Tuesday, using his Truth Social platform, the Republican former president reposted an image of himself wearing a Q lapel pin overlaid with the words “The Storm is Coming.” In QAnon lore, the “storm” refers to Trump’s final victory, when supposedly he will regain power and his opponents will be tried, and potentially executed, on live television.

This is all just a misunderstanding, right? Trump really isn't setting the stage for violence, right?

They received free transportation to a migrant-friendly, sanctuary city.  That sounds like a great deal to me.

Hey, the point I was making here was that it was awful to lure people under false pretense.  If you watch the news today you'll see that some of the immigrants are saying they were indeed lied to about the trip to Martha's Vineyard.  It is a POWER move to think you can do this.   Is this so different than taking people from their immediate surroundings with a promise of something better, so you believe. What's the difference between this and kidnapping.  Is it okay to kidnap someone as long as you think you can provide a better life?

Be careful here.  It is so easy to take advantage of someone's misfortune with another promise of fortune.

"They are happy to go"... We do not and will not know all of what they are experiencing and therefore should not assume that they ALL will be treated better here.

So what caught my attention in the world today is the Queen laying in State.  Has anyone else watched?  It's true the US has nothing even remotely close to the choreography and detail associated with this ceremony and semblance of Power.  I've never seen anything like this in my life.

The immigrants and refugees were misled by a woman named "Perla" who enticed them into the planes. Some of them were interviewed afterward.  They knew they were being used in political theater.

Didn't know what you're speaking of, so Google led me to this:

https://www.Google.com/amp/s/www.tampabay.com/news/florida-politics/2022/09/16/migrants-stranded-marthas-vineyard-say-they-were-lied/%3foutputType=amp

It's the immigration attorneys who are saying the migrants were lied to.  don't see any quotes my the migrants except for one well-coached one ( how did he know DeSantis was behind any of this, or even who DeSantis was?).

If they were "lured" by anything, it was the porous-border policies of the Biden administration.  And, many of them died trying to get here.

The City of El Paso, with a Democrat hispanic mayor, chartered a bus for migrants out of town.  What do you suppose was the motivation for that?
