I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news. I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

QuoteAccording to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.
Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.
The arrested the guy the next day.
What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.
@Roitrn why are you so bent out of shape about CNN? Is it their motto? All networks have fired people for behavior and comments. The fact that CNN has fired people speaks to them having some standards, doesn't it?
Chris Wallace was a long-time anchor on Fox, and now he has show on CNN. How is that for fair and balanced? BTW, I think he is a very good interviewer.
Perhaps because its been so poorly attended, Republicans spewed multiple lies to their audience at CPAC this week:

QuoteRep. Jim Jordan of Ohio uttered two false claims about President Joe Biden. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia repeated a debunked claim about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama used two inaccurate statistics as he lamented the state of the country. Former Trump White House official Steve Bannon repeated his regular lie about the 2020 election having been stolen from Trump, this time baselesly blaming Fox for Trump's defeat.
Rep. Kat Cammack of Florida incorrectly said a former Obama administration official had encouraged people to harass Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Rep. Ralph Norman of South Carolina inaccurately claimed Biden had laughed at a grieving mother and inaccurately insinuated that the FBI tipped off the media to its search of former President Donald Trump's Florida residence. Two other speakers, Rep. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania and former Trump administration official Sebastian Gorka, inflated the number of deaths from fentanyl.

I use Google sometimes. I'm currently accessing AN and any internet articles through a DuckDuckGo browser and search engine. I frequently do that as it is more private, according to my IT specialist son.
I only look at a Google "News" when I need to be soothed with a cat video. That's about all it's good for. Who goes to Google for news? It's just another source for celebrity news and.....cat videos.

I'd love to hear Perry and Gorka's plan for lowering the consequences of Fentanyl overdoses. Having to have any contact with the the speakers of CPAC is like being consigned to prison. I can only hope to have the opportunity to supervise these people in hell.
Roitrn said:Well expect a comment if you ever use CNN as a source. They are hardly the most trusted news source with their vast misreporting and primary political partisan rhetoric. It's not unheard of for them to play only partial videos and etc....Not to mention shameless anchors that have been fired for their unethical behavior and comments.
The use of "woke", the word is dumb. Not whatever definition you give it is dumb. You just implied I think empathy and awareness Iis dumb. Because I said "woke" is a dumb idea exposed by both sides. I'm sure the definitions are vastly different. Why don't you define "woke" then since you brought it up.
Again you posted a video from CNN so you did watch it to some extent.
The FOX defimation case hasn't even started yet but you are already asserting that is full of lies. Knowing full well commentary and opinion are not the only components of any news source. And I already said I fully expect you to devalue anything FOX every chance you get.
Anything that helps reduce suicide it a worthy endeavor. This should not be partisan. It still seems odd you would bring it up when the conversation had nothing to do with "woke" anything. But as you say, "you do you".
Of course I expect comment on sources. I used CNN because they were the source for a short clip of the video content I wanted to highlight. Many outlets published the entire video content, including CNN but they were the only outlet that had published a shorter clip. CNN didn't create that content, they recorded it. Maybe you didn't appreciate the brevity... or maybe you didn't even watch the clip.
I don't care what you think of CNN. I don't use them to inform myself and rarely as a video citation... not of commentary. Your complaints that clip are just argumentative with no other purpose.
Yes, you think the term "woke" is stupid...okay. unfortunately, we hear it too much in politics, especially as a pejorative used by Republicans. I did define it... you know, empathy and awareness. You think it's dumb but it's still a loud part of our social and political discussion today.l largely because of people like DeSantis or MTG or Boebert... you know the Trump wing of the GOP. The next presidential campaign may well have a good deal of antiwoke language if DeSantis is involved.
You stated a pretty negative opinion of CNN so me voicing a similar opinion of Fox (supported by actual evidence that FOX lied intentionally) shouldn't be troubling to you at all. I don't require a trial to understand that when media personalities are intentionally lying to people in order to maintain ratings or market share, their words and content shouldn't be trusted.
Yes, it's a real shame that so many things have been politicized when they shouldn't be... like pandemic mitigation, or science, or Dr Suess.

"Empathy and awareness." I love this definition and can't imagine why some people are so opposed to or afraid of these qualities in others....especially nurses. They aren't words that I use as political cudgels but qualities that I appreciate in others. Jesus was woke and yet, if another person appeared on earth with the exact qualities as Jesus, Tucker Carlson and Fox would be all over him as an undesirable character just fomenting trouble for those without empathy or awareness.

I'm not bent out of shape over CNN. I do not consider it a credible news source. Baloney seems bent out of shape about the suggestion that he watches CNN after he posted a video from CNN.
Chris Wallace is an even better at presidential debate. He did an excellent job at debating Trump for Biden.
Is anyone paying attention to the CPAC festivities and speeches? You don't want to miss Matt Gaetz call to get rid of the FBI, CDC and ATF... he got applause for that.

I think "empathy and awareness" is already a known value without need for a slang word to define it like "woke". I teach my children empathy and awareness so I guess I'm "woke". I think it is more complicated than that.
You really do not have to keep providing long explanations that you don't watch CNN. Just posted one video 1 time, got it!
I will make my own determination if FOX in its entirety is dishonest when the defimation trial is concluded.

"Woke" originated in the Black community back in the sixties as a reference to having a measure of alertness to issues of racial injustice. Leave it to white racists to deem that a bad thing.
Racists sure do love them some code words.

Fox was an uncomfortable place for the journalist... his conscience and professional standards caused him to leave Fox and seek work elsewhere.
Bent out of shape...hahaha... is THAT the objective of your CNN fixation? Because the repeated mentions seem to have no other purpose. I can imagine it's just an attempt to project the unease that you feel after discovering that your media voices were intentionally and unashamedly lying to you for their own financial benefit.
By the way... what are Fox news and Tucker saying about the revelation that they are liars? Is it silence? Fox will benefit from indoctrinating their viewers into a habit of very narrow media consumption.
