I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news. I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.
According to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.
Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.
The arrested the guy the next day.
What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.
Yes I agree some Americans are suffering from manipulation. Many actually. I could be wrong, I'm new here but I get the impression that you think/believe that it is all a right wing phenomenon. It's only conservatives that are manipulated by Republican politicians?

Well, I'm not a lawyer, but he allegedly violated his obligations as an attorney, including presenting false statements to interrupt a legal proceeding. I would guess that each state bar would have their own standards.
Do you think that attorneys have an obligation to follow legal standards as put forth by the state licensing them? And who should decide that?

No, I don't think that only conservatives are manipulated by republican politicians. I think that conservative people are disproportionately in the news for making threats of violence, plotting violence or talking about violence or civil war today over concern based in misinformation or fabricated issues and IMV that is a dangerous trend.
Again, this isn't about one side doing something worse. This is about discussing a social phenomenon.
I didn't say or imply that anyone or any "side" is "pure as the driven snow". I'm happy to discuss any examples of groups of liberals in recent history showing evidence of manipulation.
I'm not being manipulated by politicians, are you? I listen to politicians with my critical thinking skills engaged and I suspect that you do as well. We are influenced by our media consumption. We do see evidence of members who are manipulated by their media in these threads. The difference in discourse is pretty clear, IMV... the comments are generally adversarial and based in animus. Clearly when millions of people believe that the 2020 election was corrupt or that mail in voting is inherently not secure, they are manipulated. Those beliefs resulted in thousands of people so agitated that they tried to stop the peaceful transfer of power on 010621. That's a dangerous symptom and we should talk about it.
Why do you think a university student ID card might not be acceptable? Do you think it might be that, considering that out of state and foreign students are issued the same ID card, it won't necessarily establish citizenship and/or residency?
And, besides that, I'd bet not many college students don't have a state issued ID. And, for the few that don't, maybe they need to make a small effort to get one if voting is at all important to them.
Look at the photographs of January 6th. You can't see people climbing up balconies to gain entrance to the WH (White House)? The building looks like a mountain of sugar covered with ants.
