What is the best thing to put on diaper rash?

Water wipes(no baby wipes) and completely dry- then if you can, open to air!!! I have found that the best thing for a" yeasty "rash--- I'm not sure if this is medical advise--- is balmex mixed with some Lotrimin, you know the GYN yeast infection cream you can get OTC--- it always worked for my kids yucky rash! I agree, the corn starch might feed the yeast and make it worse.
Good luck!

A good friend swore by Bag Balm, especially for 'teething diapers'. Have to say, her kiddo's butts were healed virtually overnight with the stuff.

I totally forgot to tell you that we can only use Pampers Cruisers with our toddler. He just turned two, so I guess I can't call him the baby anymore! I've tried less expensive diapers in a pinch, and he always gets a rash. Huggies does the same, even other Pampers lines don't work as well. He has a diva butt.

When my son was an infant, he spent about 6wks at Childrens Hospital. They used Triple Paste and it is the best for diaper rash. I've passed it on at every baby shower I've been to since and always have positive feedback. You get it at the pharmacy, but you don't need a prescription.
I don't think its too pricey and a little goes a long way. I noticed a difference in less than 24 hrs.
Triple Paste, it works.

There is an zinc oxide ointment called Triple Paste that I LOVED:redbeathe when my daughter was an infamt. Other thaen that, just keep the area cleansed with a gentle cleanser and DRY. Avoid the used of any scented/lotioned wipes. I would stay AWAY from cornstarch; it facilitates yeast growth and can cause a yeast rash/infection.
That's funny; Pampers gave my daughter the WORST rash/irritation! We eventually went to cloth diapers anyway, though! :)

Not medical advice, just mother to mother! :redbeathe
First of all, give the kid a banana to help bind things up a bit. Every time my little guy gets diarrhea he gets a banana and it clears-up quick. Seriously. We discovered this purely by accident, and it works like a charm. I'm sure you already know this, but avoid fruit juices all together. Dairy can also make it worse.
My recipe for treating a raw heine is to use cloth wipes saturated with warm water only. When my son was a baby I made cloth wipes from t-shirt material - two 8" squares sewn together around the edge. They work like a charm, and don't contain anything that would irritate the skin further. I also keep the dipes off all together. This can make for some yucky accidents sometimes, but it helps with healing so much that I think it is really worth it.
Hope your little one feels better soon!
