Hey everyone,
I am looking at possible attending WGUs Prelicensing.
I have been between 2 schools but it is looking more positive with WGU than the other school. I have to retake my A&P 2 due to the Lack of quality instructors. The Professor we had was absolutely horrible and many of us in the class need to retake it due to low grades. I will have to wait til Spring and take it at a community college instead of where I took the last one. I am wondering how many other are planning to attend in 2015.
Other than that I will have all I need to Apply. I am emailing my enrollment counselor and find out the upcoming dates that are out so far in 2015.
I am gearing more towards WGU and having a group to work together and keep eachother motivated would be great. Let me know.
Thanks
Shonda

Have you considered using Straighterline's A&P? You could do that sooner and they accept it.
I tried and could not get into it. I bought the lab kits and everything but just could not focus on it. I might try again. Trying to read it and then take the test. The test were kind of confusing because I was not finding the answers in the book for some questions. I gave the lab kit to my school I was doing the classes through. I may try again and see how it goes.
I still have the micro kit complete. Trying to get rid of it because I completed it at National University.
I have been hearing good things about WGU but mostly on the RN to BSN programs. If that program is getting good review I am assuming the pre-licensing is good and hearing alot from my enrollment counselor.
I wish more Pre-licensing students were here.

I think it's because there are a LOT of RN to BSN students, but the pre-licensure program is limited to select small groups in certain areas. They do have a facebook group, I believe.

I work as a clinical instructor for the pre-licensure program in Indiana and would be happy to answer your questions.
I am actually in Southern California. I Know some cohorts have Facebook Pages and the General Page for WGU that I am on.
Was just here wondering if any other students are applying for next year.
I am looking at joing back with Straighterline to get that other class redone. Wish I had not given my LAb kit to the school I did my classes with. I didn't think I would need it.
Stuff happens.

How does Straightline work? How long is the online course for the sciences? I already completed Micro, Anatomy, Physiology, but mine expired last year. Im hoping once WGU reviews my transcripts I won't need to retake them..
It is an online program that is contracted with WGU and other schools to offer their general education and sciences courses online. They have the home course lecture and lab. You have to pay $99 a month subscirption and each class cost $49 one time fee. The lab kit is purchased separately. They provide the syllabus and which textbook and lab kit you need.
The final exam is proctored meaning you can use 1 regular sheet of notes you made front and back and it is done while you are on webchat with the examiner.
You do your labs at home and answer worksheets and take pictures of your lab work.
Once you pass the course you request a transcript for WGU and they transfer the course.
The website is http://www.straighterline.com
you go to WGU and find the course that fits theirs.
So you have one month to complete lecture and lab?
Oh. I forgot to answer that question. It is self paced. You finish however fast or slow you want to finish it. Some finish it in a a few weeks some take a couple of months. It is however pace you want to do it. You just pay the $99 a month and stay subscribed as you long as you take it.
I am mixed between West Coast University and Western Governors University.
