WGU Pre-licensing BSN for 2015

Nursing Students Western Governors

Published

Hey everyone,

I am looking at possible attending WGUs Prelicensing.

I have been between 2 schools but it is looking more positive with than the other school. I have to retake my A&P 2 due to the Lack of quality instructors. The Professor we had was absolutely horrible and many of us in the class need to retake it due to low grades. I will have to wait til Spring and take it at a community college instead of where I took the last one. I am wondering how many other are planning to attend in 2015.

Other than that I will have all I need to Apply. I am emailing my enrollment counselor and find out the upcoming dates that are out so far in 2015.

I am gearing more towards WGU and having a group to work together and keep eachother motivated would be great. Let me know.

Thanks

Shonda

I am new to this webpage. How do we pm others?

You need 10 posts before that option to PM is available.

And then you click on someone's name to go to their profile, where you can send the PM.

Thank for the reply. So do you take and ATI exam in each subject? Like Pharmacology, Mental Health, etc.. or is it just one comprehensive exam at the end of clinicals?

You take the ATI exam for each subject including the comprehensive one at the end. Honestly, I think it is a good thing that does ATI. If you're passing the ATI exam that means you are putting yourself in good shape for the NCLEX. I would rather do that vs the school making their own questions because ATI is basically built to pass the NCLEX.

Hi @ shondaj! I wanted to knowin the end did you decided to settle with ? Why i ask, is because i am 3 classes away to be finish to be enroll in the prelic program. If you did, i wanted to know how the program over for you? Thanks!

Hi All,

I'm new here.

All pre reqs for the pre licensure program can be completed via straighter line?

Thanks,

David

Yes, but I dont think straighterline offers all the pre-reqs. The ones that they do offer will be accepted by .

Hi Centercourt2015,

Thanks for the insight and response.

Any chance you can help identify which pre reqs that wasn't offered at straighter line but is a requirement?

Thanks,

David

Here are all the courses offered at straighterline: Online College Courses For Credits Towards Your Degree | StraighterLine

Here are the pre-req requirements for the program: Pre-Nursing Prerequisites for the B.S. Nursing (Prelicensure) | WGU Nursing

I would check an enrollment counselor at WGU also, but from look in at it I think they don't offer "Human Growth and Development across the Lifespan".

I noticed that even though Biochem and Pharmacology are not required as a pre-req, are they still required to be completed for the program?

Yes, you take both of them the first semester.
