I took the hurst review in january, then again after i graduated my ADN school in May. I am planning on scheduling the next available NCLEX, after i get my ATT.

My plan:

review the HURST seminar notes booklet

Do the end of chapter questions,

Watch the pediatric lecture and do the seminar notes section (on the DVD)

take the mock nclex, (maybe take it twice)

Don't freak out y'all NCLEX isn't so big and bad as they make it out to be.

All of my classmates have been finishing with 75 questions and all of them reported that NCLEX was easier than any of the tests we took in our community college program.

Just did Kaplan, and did a little Saunders but those questions were too easy to do all the time, I wanted to work on stuff that I was not strong in. I would def suggest practicing infection control, priority questions, and drugs...

GOODLUCK!

I just got my ATT yesterday, so its ON like Donkey Kong...

I'll be in a cave for the next month doing NCLEX 4000 questions, questions from the book "Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment" by LaCharity, Kumagai, and Bartz, and another random Mosby NCLEX book. I passed all my HESIs by doing questions from the NCLEX 3500, so I figure I'll stick with the same formula.

Yep I give credit to 3500 NCLEX CD and Lacharity book.

Well what is your plan to be succesful the second time around?

the first time all i used was saunders, this time im doing kaplan, some more of saunders, and am debating on purchasing ncsbn, dont know yet.. but want to do 100- 150 questions per day, and read all rationals, even if i got the answer right.. thats my plan :)

Hi, everybody:

I graduated in June, still waiting for my ATT - the school mailed in the applications 2 weeks ago. How long does it take in SoCal to get the letter? I heard that BRN is changing the format 8/15 and I am totally scared. So far I'm doing the ATIs and score from 72 to 98 but the questions are content and kind of easy. I'm planning on taking Kaplan and also have Saunders, Springhouse, the 3300 bullets, and a bunch of CDs with questions. I'm really insecure about pharm - all friends that took the exam said a lot of pharm.

Good luck to all!

The exam is a national exam so I doubt the Ca are changing the format. I would always check on NCSBN on what is happening as it does get reviewed every 3 years.

Have you registered with pearsonvue as they are the ones that will send you your ATT?

I am almost done reviewing Kaplan.. and then I will move on to NCSBN... and see how it goes... cant wait to get this exam over with. August is around the corner.

I'll be taking mine in August as well, a retaker over and over. I signed up for the NCSBN online review. I hope that will help me. I just found out that Saunders has an online review, has anyone ever tried that.

August 12 2 pm

Here is my plan:

Finish the NCBSN online NCLEX review

Do the whole Saunders CD (fourth edition)

Do the Exam cram CD (1000 questions)

Do the Pharmacology Success book (over 1000 questions)

Do the Med-surgical Success Book (1000 questions)

Do the NCLEX 3500

Woe!!! There is no way you can do that many questions and take the nclex in august! Most days I could only get through 100 questions (being sure to read each rationale and test strategy). There were a few days when I would get on a caffeine high and do 300...but that was not every day!

Aug 14 11am... Using a PN study guide right now - reading the entire book. Then tackling over 1000 questions. Also plan on taking some online practice tests. Then if I have time left over I am going to review all my notes from class for the last year! Got a quick question... had to take a HESI exit exam (not sure which one or how many there are) - minimum required for my school was 700 - I scored 862. That has left me feeling pretty confident. Anyone else take the same exam?

Pinning is on wednesday and I can't send off for my nclex until two weeks after pinning. My plan is to do 50-100 questions, qday. I plan on taking my nclex hopefully before August is over with.
