  1. Hi, love-d-or I found a post from you in another thread regarding registry hiring new grads. I just obtained my license late September in Los Angeles and can't find a new grad program. I was thinking of signing up with a registry but the ones I called so far require at least 1 year experience. You mentioned that you know some that hire new grads. If it's not too much of an imposition, can you help me out? I am desperate for a job - how does one gain experience if nobody would hire us? Marie
  2. After 23 days waiting I finally got my license! Yey! I'm an RN now! PVT works! Thank you all and the August group, too for the support! Good luck to everyone - we'll keep up the 100%!I'm going to really celebrate! Marie
  3. Re Stefan - thanks for replying - I feel like a heel even writing about it but I was going through the posts and trying to keep up. Bad timing. What's important now is you did it! Susanne, enjoy your day! You did it! Congrats again:yeah::yeah:! Marie
  4. Yey, yes, yes, yes! Congrats, girl!!!!! You're an RN!!!!!!:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah: :clpty: Now go relax!!!!!!!:tbsk:
  5. It's not really important but I passed your message to Stefan (my son) and he said the Air Force have the program but the eligibility requirement is to be E4. He's E2 and he also mentioned that the AF have longer waiting periods to advance from E1/2/3/4 since their budget is way lower than the army.
  6. Hi, everybody taking the NCLEX in Cali - the names seem to appear on the BRN site within 2-3 days. If you got the PVT pop-up, and your name still isn't up there, call them - they seem to sometimes misplace/lose transcripts, and you need to talk to your evaluator (his/her name is on the initial letter from the BRN, second page). Since Cali doesn't participate in quick results, it's very unlikely you get a PVT message "Records on hold" or something similar that may clue you in. Happened to me, I was agonizing until I found out I passed but my transcript was lost (though nobody is willing to take responsibility). Good luck to everybody taking the test September. Susanne, I am absolutely , 100% sure you'll pass! Can't wait for your post! Marie
  7. Susanne, thanks again! Good luck 09/09/09! You'll pass, I just feel so sure! I hope I'm not breaking the English only code since this is a quote which worked for me throughout my studies: Allen Gewalten zum Trotz sich erhalten, Nimmer sich beugen, kraeftig sich zeigen, Rufet die Arme der Goetter herbei! Marie
  8. Thank you! I'll pass the info to him; he said something of not being eligible to go to school yet - he joined last November (basic training), then tech school till March, then Port Andrews. He's E2. I'm afraid I wasn't paying much attention to him the last few months while I was going crazy with the NCLEX and all but now it's high time I resume being a Mom. What branch are you in?
  9. Hi, everybody! I'm still waiting for my name to pop up on the Cali BON site - if it doesn't, I'll be the first casualty for September and the first one to cast doubt on PVT. Susanne, I read someplace that you're German AND in the military - I'm half German, half Italian, and my son is in the Air Force at Port Andrews. He's planning on starting the RN program at Mason U as soon as he becomes eligible to study. Good luck to all taking the test! I'm praying for you and I know we will all pass - we worked so hard! BTW, a number of my classmates who took the NCLEX were getting qs about SLE and cirrhosis (including me). Keep up the 100% rate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Marie
  10. Thank you, Susanne - you're so knowledgeable! I'll try to distract myself like clean the house or something. It's just that this was such a drastic career change for me - I've been working as a computer programmer for 22 years, now the kids are all grown up, I decided to change careers and it seems that my tolerance for possible failure is non-existent and I keep freaking out. Guess I'm regressing - I want to be an RN so badly!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Does any body know if the Pearson trick ever failed? Three of my classmates took the test and their licenses were posted on the BRN site two days afterwards (CA doesn't have a quick result program); I took my test 9/1 and still don't have a license - the last update on the Board's site was 9/3 and I'm going crazy. I did the trick again today and again got the pop up but still... Marie
