8 Week A&P 1 with Edukan...what do you think?

Published

I'm thinking about picking up another class for the semester because the ones I'm currently taking aren't very challenging and don't require much outside work. Principles of Chem (less than 1 hr of homework), Yoga (no homework!), Brain and Behavior (no book=no outside work), Sign Language 1 (very little outside work). Edukan offers A&P 1 starting in March and running for 8 weeks. Do you think that's doable? I've already taken an A&P class a couple of years ago that isn't acceptable anywhere, so I feel like it won't be as tough as it would be for some people, but I don't want to get in over my head at the same time.

What do you think?

Also, they say in the syllabus that you should buy the books through eCampus, but do you see any reason why I couldn't buy through Barnes & Noble? They're quite a bit cheaper.

Hi everyone I will be taking A & P II @ Edukan.org during the summer session 3 I think its with Simmons. If any one else will be taking it let me know sure could use a friend online. I just finished biology and history with Rio online , still taking medical terminology online, does anyone know if Rio's final exam on Med. Terminology is hard or not ? Well hope to here from someone soon ! Thanks, Carolyn2180

Hi there, I will be in that class...good to know that you'll be there too! I think there may be one other person from here attending that class, not sure though. Anyway, I have Simmons now for A/P I and like it very much so far. Look forward to seeing you in class in June!!

Surgery went great! I have very little swelling, just ugly incisions/stitches under my eyes. Can't wear my contacts for another week or so which is annoying because I hate wearing glasses! But with my glasses on most people don't notice the stitches until they're right in front of me.

Website for the book??? Am I missing something?

Glad surgery went well!!

I believe the website being referred to is mariebmap.com but you need an instructor access code to register on the site. As far as I could tell, Simmons has not made that available, unfortunately! I thought about sending an email to him to see if he has that available but I've already ordered the guide now and will start with that.

Talk to you soon!

;) nc thanxs you made me feel better::;) also since simmons grade our assignments I got my average class score to a 89 , so if I maybe keep doing all my homework and just do a little better on the test I might be able to pull an A if not a B is not bad either I am currently taking this course with psycholoy , english comp1 , and hist, so far I have A's in all of the except A&P. I am also taking A&P2 for summer session 3 along with micro and chem through cccall duringng the summer , these will be my only three classes so hopefully it wont be that bad::uhoh3: My summer session 1 is also crammed but I find that when I overwhelm myself with work I do a lot better then when I just take 1 class wierd huh?. Katty glad to hear you are doing good , see ya guys in class!!!

here is the link for the book's website. Even though there is no instructor code, (he doesn't have one) you can still have access to practice quizzes and tests. If you did not purchase the book new, then there might be a fee for this.

You guys sound like you are doing great! I start AP 2 in April (finishing up Micro right now) you can bet that I will be using this website come April!

:) C...

I actually had this link when I took the a P I on campus. Do they do the tests thru here, or do the professors right their own exam? just curious..

Dr. Simmons told us that the questions came from a random test bank from the publisher. That is why the text book's practice tests (for me) were helpful. I don't think there were any repeat questions, but similar ones. (so if you know the concept well enough for the practice tests, then chances are, you know the concepts for the exam) that is just my theory, and part of my study plan. Everyone has their own different way of learning.

I'm going to check on the online practice tests, but they're probably similar to the ones in the study guide. That's the way some of my other classes have been. I didn't notice any questions that seemed to be straight from the practice test in the study guide, but I do think I had a better grasp of the concepts, like you said. Doing those meant I had to do a little extra reading and studying on the concepts that I wouldn't have done otherwise.

Hi, NC RN 2B

GLAD TO MEET YOU! My name is Carolyn and I see your from the South and 38 as well. Exactly what part of the South are you from. I'm from the Sooner State and I'm also 38. I hope to keep in touch maybe we can help each other out in our class together. I already have my books and etc. from Anatomy. I hope to finish this class and then take Micro, and then apply to a local college and hopefully get in to the nursing program. Well talk to you later and good luck in A & P I.

Carolyn
