8 Week A&P 1 with Edukan...what do you think?

Published

I'm thinking about picking up another class for the semester because the ones I'm currently taking aren't very challenging and don't require much outside work. Principles of Chem (less than 1 hr of homework), Yoga (no homework!), Brain and Behavior (no book=no outside work), Sign Language 1 (very little outside work). Edukan offers A&P 1 starting in March and running for 8 weeks. Do you think that's doable? I've already taken an A&P class a couple of years ago that isn't acceptable anywhere, so I feel like it won't be as tough as it would be for some people, but I don't want to get in over my head at the same time.

What do you think?

Also, they say in the syllabus that you should buy the books through eCampus, but do you see any reason why I couldn't buy through Barnes & Noble? They're quite a bit cheaper.

How are you gals coming on the Unit 1? I've turned in everything and just took the test. Got an A on it, I knew most of it until the last few. Goodluck! I had to get it over with because I'm having surgery tomorrow and don't want to have to deal with it after that. Went ahead and did all my threaded disussion responses as well. I'm Lana, by the way. So you'll know me when you see me in the discussions!

Hi, Good for you on the A! I have done the labs up until 1-1.11and also did the essay questions and now just have to take the test !I will let you know how I did!!

Ugh, I got a D on the exam. :uhoh21:

Not surprised, to be honest, because me and Chem just don't mix very well. I studied hard, but absolutely drew a blank when it came to the majority of those questions. The Chapter 1 questions were a piece of cake though. I'm kind of glad we got that out of the way early, now I can focus on the rest! I know I'm eventually going to have to make my peace with Chemistry but I'm in no rush.

Glad you did so well on the exam...oh, and I'm Candace on the discussion boards.

Good Luck with your surgery, please let us know how that turns out.

Oh sorry about the first exam! Just put it behind you and keep going.

I think it will get better. Every class has the boring stuff at the beginning that you just have to get through. The next unit (ch 3&4) looks a little better, but I like getting in to the body systems better.

I'm just curious how much time you guys took for the test. I used almost all my time.

I USED about 25 minutes of my time , but i did feel like i was rushed , it made me nervous having a timer right above you , so when are you guys taking a&p 2 for me it in the summer session 2 (i think )i will be glad when this is over !

I'm right there with you, Seemik...I can't stand chemistry! But, you got a 76, which is still very decent IMO. I would have liked that much better than my 64. :uhoh21:

I just started reading Chapter 3 on the cells...a little more interesting but ALOT of information, I'm going to have to read it several times to digest it all *sigh*. The tissue chapter (4) seems like it may be okay too. But like kayte, I'm really looking forward to the body systems.

I spent about 25 minutes on the test as well, was a little stressful worrying about staying within the timeframe, trying to figure out the questions and realizing I wasnt going to be able to answer many of them!

I'm taking A/P II from Edukan during Summer Session 3, going to torture myself again with the 8-week course! :lol2:

Keep in touch with your progress!!!

Hey guys I just wanted to let you know about a study guide I found that's available for the book. Didn't seem like he really used any questions from it, but it helps me at least have a little better understanding of it. I got mine on Amazon as a used book that the person had only answered a few questions in chapt 1. ISBN is 0805354646 if you're interested. Since we have to use this book for another class as well I decided it was worth it. I won't be able to take A&P2 until at least the fall. This summer I'm taking chem 1 here because I'm currently in Principles of Chemistry. In the fall I'm planning to take Micro through Edukan because it requires you to go to campus a couple of times through the semester on Fridays and I'll have Fridays off in my nursing program. If I find that my nursing homework is fairly light (yeah right!) I would consider doing A&P2 and Micro both in the fall. I think as a 16 week class it would be fairly easy.

How did eye surgery go?

Surgery went great! I have very little swelling, just ugly incisions/stitches under my eyes. Can't wear my contacts for another week or so which is annoying because I hate wearing glasses! But with my glasses on most people don't notice the stitches until they're right in front of me.

Website for the book??? Am I missing something?
