Hey guys!
This is kinda stupid, but I need to find a good watch with a second hand for my clinicals when I start in the spring. So far the only watch I've seen that I think will work good is the Swiss extreme (extreme II) with the black face and band. I wanted some ideas of the types of watches you guys use.

I'm a female, but I wear a man's watch from Wally World. Why? Because the model I like has nice large legible numbers (no Roman numerals or slashes or dots), a stop-second hand (as opposed to a sweep-second hand), and the two main hands glow in the dark. It's not honkin' big, and I like it better than any of the women's watches I have seen. This model started out at $6.99 about nine years ago. I think they're $9.99 now and worth every penny .
I buy (and re-buy) these watches because they're practical and inexpensive. If I lost one or damaged it somehow, it wouldn't break my heart.
They last about four years. I own two at a time, so I always have a spare. When one of then gives out, I buy a new one so I still have two. This system really works well. I'm going to keep doing it this way until I can't find my favorite model anymore. Then I'll try to find something else I like and, once again, tuck an extra one away for a spare.

Okay, I'm going to look like a big, spoiled turd.
I use a Rolex Submariner (blue). :imbar It's easy to read in almost any light and at most angles.
I won't be a complete toad and post the list price, but I will mention that it was a gift from my wife a number of years ago.
Seriously though, I would think any modern quartz watch that you find easy to read will do the job for many years.
You could always try the Flavor-Flav method and wear a big ugly clock around your neck!
You asked.
Damn! Why didn't I think of that? I'd be gettin all em b*tches with that!

Well, through EMS and law enforcement, I've worn a gold and silver Citizen. Gold face and bezel as well as gold trim on a silver band and body. It looks nice, and I've worn it for over four years now with no damage. There's a second hand, and the hands even glow in the dark. Saving lives while looking good.

I have a Fossil and I love it....i have had for about 3 years i think it was about 55 dollars or so....but one of the main things that I like about it is it has the date on it too. It really comes in handy for the night shift when you switch days inn the middle of the shift....plus the numbers and the hands glow in the dark, even the second hand :)
