Well I put up a good fight but I give in I am going to quite ! I am not going to recount all the details but due it all hit the fan today :crying2: Two weeks or so ago I was in an car wreck on the my way to work I hurt my shoulder and ended up with disks pressing on my spinel cord causing me to lose some felling in my hands and legs .

I work on the 2nd floor and my office has no elevator so yesterday after almost killing my self on the step trying to more or less craw up them at this point it I had had anuff and told my boss it was hard for me to walk up the steps . today I was called down to HR and told that they where going to fire me today for messing up ( due to a medical problem I have control of ) but because they "love me" they are going to give me a job down stairs :yeah: sounds good right ? the problem is I have to take a pay cut ,I am also being made to work 40 hours when I olney work 32 now and I have to be there at 7:00 am (i have no ride at this time ) I also am NOT soppiest to lift anything heavy ,use my bad arm ,or stand up for to long ! I am in quite a lot of pain and the idea of having to be up for 8plus hours a day is killing me . they also told me I was in bad standing and would never be rehired ? and they cut off my health care with 4 days notes  thank god I have medicare as a backup .

well thats my vent ,please not cracks on the spelling today :)I always said I would go back to school if I lost my job but how in the world am i going to do that now ??

Trekfan-sorry things seem to have gotten out of hand. Your life has certainly been difficult the last few years and kudos to you for trying to work through it all. I hope getting things off your chest helps, and may you find a path now that is satisfactory to you.

Wow, what class.....I'd say about 5th or 6th....(if that)

So, Onradar, since you know so much, you surely know where the OP lives, and that there is a bus route right past their house, directly (or with few stops) to their place of employment.

No one ever lives anywhere that is not on a bus route, or in a town that does not have strong public transportation, ever. People dont live outside of cities, where there is no such this as a bus, let alone a 5 dollar bus ride....

As xtxrn said.... dude...

Shoot- one town I lived in had no bus, and only one taxi...as in one car- :D

It was a pale yellow station wagon with no logo. The hours were: "when he answers the phone" :yeah:

Oh that is a very nice loophole I didn't know about! Good job! I apologize.

The OP is going through a situation that no one knows all the facts about it. One way to find out about a poster's history is to read through their previous posts so that you can understand them better, before you give advice. You might have collected unemployment on the moon but that is not what OP is asking about. Take a deep breath and Please resist the urge to post to this thread.

Just curious... how is being legally blind a loop hole? That sounds pretty disabled to me... just saying.

I hope the OP feels better soon and that everything works out.

OP, I am very sorry for everything that you're going through. It sounds like a very tough situation and I hope it improves soon for you.

That being said, I'm confused as why you post here? I know you want to be a nurse, but quite frankly you have a ways to go before you get there. We can't get medical advice, and going back through your posts, many have bordered on asking medical advice. Further, very few of us can relate to the situations you're in, and therefore can't offer much advice.

Perhaps you would be able to find a board for people with disabilities and find it more productive to post there?

DO NOT QUIT

First off...the VA is unionized, even if you are not a member they HAVE to help you. Utilize the union.

Second...consider filing FMLA, you can use sick leave, vacation time or LWOP (leave without pay) until this is sorted out.

Third...consider filing an EEO complaint, but DO NOT do this at your VA, do it at a different VA. The VA system is notorious for "losing" paperwork. If you do it a VA that is outside, so to speak, it will truly be an objective process.

Good luck.

oh that is a very nice loophole i didn't know about! good job! i apologize.

not cool dude!

are you a nurse?

blondy2061h,

I get what you're saying. :) And appreciate the gentle tone (anybody else realize she hasn't replied for several posts?).

And at the same time, the OP does work in the medical field (as do other non-nurses here...who are not going to nursing school). I'm a disabled RN- and while I haven't worked in years (but keep my license active, since it's really important to me), it's nice to be able to participate in conversations about situations I've been familiar with most of my life. It's one less loss. :o IDK if that's what Trek feels or not. But she does contribute to threads that don't involve her. And PMs when something is upsetting, so minimizing personal posts. (I get her PMs - and am glad to).

Doing orders for the VA and gov.

I have looked at your past posts. I understand that you are legally blind and spell check might or might not work for you but you seem to have more syntax, misspellings, and grammatical errors than typos.

I am not sure what "Doing orders" might entail but surely you have to be able to read and write.

There was a past issue with a "coworker talking about me behind my back."

You say you cannot climb the stairs as the result of the auto accident but also have peripheral neuropathy in your feet and legs.

You say you "want to be a nurse someday" but are unable to write a short post here without multiple errors every time. What sort of nursing do you expect to be able to do?

Might be time for some inward reflection.

I've collected unemployment from the West Coast to the East Coast and have a good idea what I'm talking about so...

How is it you have been fired so much?
