Hello! I'm posting here to get any feedback from previous UWSoN students or current prenursing students who are applying for the 2019 cohort. A little bit about me is that I'm currently a student at OC in Washington, my prereq GPA for UW's required classes is about a 3.81 and my cumulative GPA is a 3.7. I have been working as a CNA/Medication assistant for almost half a year and will be continuing working until I move to Seattle for school. Any advice is greatly appreciated on housing, how to study for the proctored essay, and any way to better my chances! Thank you!

Congratulations!!! That is great news!
Does anyone know if we have prereqs in progress if we should submit our Winter quarter grades to UWSoN? I feel like the answer is No and that we only submit them if we are accepted. I did double check the application instructions, but didn't see anything on it and I wanted to check if anyone here remembers reading something about it.
@UDub1861 nope, you don’t have to submit them till they ask you for it later ? I remember having this same question and asking them, and they told me to not worry about submitting anything from winter quarter on until required to do so ^_^ hope that helps! And I’m pretty sure you can take classes in the summer; you just have to have everything done by fall, before the program starts.
Thank you @raffi18 and @sm38! I just wanted to confirm ?
And I haven't heard any updates yet on the timeline, but I imagine if they come out sooner than the 19th, it wouldn't be more than by a few days to a week or so. Almost there guys.
@sm38 I am not sure actually. I actually haven't thought about it, but I can't imagine we would?
Hello! I am very late to the forum but I am starting to freak out because I have only applied to the BSN program at UW and have no other plans made so far. I will most likely work a whole year and gain more experience at a hospital and reapply. Is anyone in the same boat? Anyone have any suggestions of what I could do if I don't get in and where else to apply?
@UDub1861 hopefully we’ll only have to pay one... UW’s fee is $310, and I’m sure the SoN’s is about the same if not more. Yikes
Also, @Anjee.b, I haven’t applied to any other BSN programs either. They’re either too far or too expensive... if you’re not opposed to going the ADN —> RN to BSN route, definitely apply to community college programs in your area. I’ll be applying to Bellevue college and LW tech ?
To be honest, I never even thought about separate admissions fees for UW and SON. I had no idea it was $310!!!! Do you think that's the same as the orientation fee? I have heard that just attending orientation is also upwards of a couple hundred bucks.
Anjee, I'm in the same boat. I've struggled to come to terms with what I'd do if I get rejected ( it's so unpleasant to think about) but the bottom line is that I would apply again. I would definitely prioritize pursuing more diverse experiences- volunteer with different populations, possibly get a job at an urgent care or ER (the closer to hospital environment and nurses, the better) aggressively build up my resume. Plus complete all my prereqs, since I had only 4 natural world completed for this round.
It may help to know that Adrian posted a while back that they will be doing app review again this year. SON actually did not allow applicants this resource last time (it was a super funky year). So in the scenario of rejection , you can meet directly with Adrian and hear exactly what needs to change in your app, why the committee overlooked yours for someone else's. I think this is an extremely valuable resource. I have never read about someone on this forum who attended+ got tips from app review, and then didn't get in next round.

@bluepurplegreen Congrats on your acceptance to SPU!
Congrats to all receiving their acceptances from schools!
Ya'll are so lucky being able to apply to other schools!
I wasn't able to because the financial costs, I have young daughter to support!
I'm getting so anxious for UW's decisions to be released ?
I've been told that it's very easy to get your application thrown out because of not following the proctored essay directions.
I've been second-guessing myself about my last paragraph if I actually separated my professional and personal weaknesses.
I feel as if I blended the two... The stress is killing me ?
