  1. Sadly I didn't make the cut! Congrats to those that did!! I'm planning on applying to the BSN next January and ABSN this October, so hopefully I do better the next time! Does anybody have any tips on improving your application? ?
  2. @bluepurplegreen Congrats on your acceptance to SPU! Congrats to all receiving their acceptances from schools! Ya'll are so lucky being able to apply to other schools! I wasn't able to because the financial costs, I have young daughter to support! I'm getting so anxious for UW's decisions to be released ? I've been told that it's very easy to get your application thrown out because of not following the proctored essay directions. I've been second-guessing myself about my last paragraph if I actually separated my professional and personal weaknesses. I feel as if I blended the two... The stress is killing me ?
  3. Very anxious.... Some comforting words I received from my supervisor is that at this point, the UW Nursing admissions is probably aiming to diversify the incoming cohort, as well as choosing the ones who have demonstrated through their application, the best fit with program. I myself, am picking apart my application, about everything I could have done better. Very, very stressful. If anything, I aim to reapply to the BSN and ABSN programs this fall! Hope everyone is well! ? Remeber that life goes on!
  4. Real talk though guys, my proctored essay was probably the worst/weakest part of my application! Still trying to remain optimistic, but ?
  5. My essay was just a hot mess all around haha! It seems as if I approached the essay a bit differently from other folks. For me, I actually emphasized the challenges of the patient scenario (which kind of tied in to what I gain as well????) Where I acknowledged that there was more than meets eye surrounding the patient and that it was difficult to provide care without first understanding their entire situation. ¯\ _(ツ)_/¯ I got the same answers of 1.2, 200, and 16 so I have that going for me! They were trickier than I expected, when I opened the booklet I was soooo shocked
  6. @purplepotato While I've yet to experience writing the proctored essay, I would assume that they'll always specify the units in the problem! Additionally, I'm also assuming they'll state if they want us to round or not. Something I've found helpful is looking through the past forums and getting a feel for the essay prompts! Hopefully this helps One question though for anybody who's written the proctored essay, are the math questions usually only just dosage calculations? Thank you guys for being so helpful ?
  7. Just received the invite!! Good luck to everyone coming to the essay!
  8. Hi! I'm also trying to get into UW's nursing school also! I'm currently a UW student and this will be my first time applying as well :) By the time of my application, I'll have a cumulative gpa of around a ~3.65, but my prereq gpa will most likely be around a ~3.3 I've been working as a cna at a nursing home for about 9 months so far and have been volunteering at other hospitals as well, so perhaps I'll reach around 1000 healthcare hours by the time I apply. Good luck to both of you guys applying, hopefully we all will get in haha xD
