UTMB Spring 2012

Hey Guys!

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all UTMB Galveston's Spring 2012 traditional bsn applicants. Have you all started to apply yet or at least looked at the application? What do you think? How are your personal statements/testing going? If you guys have anything worth discussing please post and good luck to all!

Hello, good luck to those who are awaiting response, and congrats to those who have been accepted.

I accepted admission last month around the 14th, and have still haven't received my packet in the mail. I've tried to call... i'm sure many of you know how that goes.

I sent my request for reservation in the dorms today w the deposit. I also did my cpr certification yesterday (bls). I know that orientation is on the 5-6 but class starts the 9th? How do i know what classes to register for...? I've modified my fafsa adding UTMB to my schools. I have reviewed my To Do list on mystar with a list of tax returns and my recent transcript.

I'm leaving the country next month for the entire month and want to be prepared when i get back. Those who have been accepted or know what steps i should take before the spring please enlighten me because i'm a little lost with the registration process as far as scheduling and stuff.

They will register you, the entire class will take all courses together. You will likely get a schedule during, or shortly before, orientation. Maybe see about purchasing books and scrubs. Make sure immunizations and background check are completed. Enjoy your trip.

I'm also interested in the gender ratio for the nursing school, i've been hearing different things. I'm a male and planning on staying on campus, i've read theres an all female dorm for nursing, but nothing about male housing for the nursing school. Just curious thanks!

Oh gosh, I don't know a thing about housing - I live off campus.

You can purchase scrubs anywhere - just have to be burnt orange with the longhorn logo on the top and bottom. I just recommend doing it ASAP as people are already running into back order issues.

Are you on the FB group page? I highly recommend it - there is gobs of info being shared over there, and I believe at least 2 guys looking for roommates!!

Hey everybody..... Congrats to those who've gotten in! Question for y'all..... Can I submit my application before I take my TEAS? They already have my transcripts, but I'm not scheduled to take the TEAS till Dec 29th, and I want to submit my application when they open. Thanks in advance!

It's been 10 days since my interview and TC said they'd let me know by today. I wouldnt be that upset if I didn't get in since I've been accepted to UTHSC Houston but it'd still be nice to know.

@punkydoodles who do you recommend that we call to follow up? Ive been pretty unsuccessful this far when trying to contact/get information from people...
