UTMB Spring 2012

Hey Guys!

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all UTMB Galveston's Spring 2012 traditional bsn applicants. Have you all started to apply yet or at least looked at the application? What do you think? How are your personal statements/testing going? If you guys have anything worth discussing please post and good luck to all!

I really need your advice, I received the accepted letter form both UTMB and TWU(Houston). OMG...I am so so happy! But I don't still decide which school I should go.

Please give me some ideas.....Thank you guys!

Congrats on both acceptances! Really, this decision is going to be one that only *you* can make. Just need to sit down and make a list of pros & cons of both schools and see which one has most pros & least cons. Look at costs, transportation, degree plan, financial aid, etc. Also look at NCLEX rates & class retention rates as well. Check out faculty to student ratios, extras offered such as tutoring classes, etch.

I received the acceptance letter from UTMB first around 3weeks ago - a day after interview, then I waiting for TWU, but it's hopeless until yesterday I got the letter from TWU. How could I say!

I hope everybody can get in the program soon!

Thank you for ur advice, I am gonna discuss to my parents to make the best choice, coz I'm living Houston so TWU may be my first choice

hey guys i just wanted to ask everyone on here for prayers and tell you my horror story about getting accepted but not knowing it. this tuesday i received an email from the son stating that i had been accepted the spring 2012 semester but that i had missed the dealine to accept the offer and so my spot had been given to someone else. i never received the email stating i even got accepted!! i have searched through my entire email account (spam, deleted messages, even drafts) and there is no email! they have agreed to put me on the waiting list so i need prayers that a miracle happens. and please be sure you are calling and checking mystar everyday! i don't want this to happen to anyone else! also, if you have a spot at utmb and have already decided or if you do decide that you are not going to go there, if you could please call and tell them so they can get someone else in. don't wait to just not show up for orientation. congrats to everyone who has been accepted. oh and also they told me that they are full now and just interviewing for the waiting list.

i might be dropping my spot with utmb soon because i was also accepted into twu. after talking to some people i know, i think twu will be slightly better for me. so keep your hopes up and if you're #1 one on the list, i'll pray that you get in!

Well another spot on the waiting list will open up because I'm going with TWU! So good luck to all that we're accepted and those waitlisted!

Probably because of the giant logistical headache, instead of fall/spring there will be summer/fall.

It hurts my heart to have to type these words, but today I received my rejection letter from UTMB. I also think about the overs who received the same generic letter that I received today, that gave no insight to who we really were or how/where we fell short. I'm almost convicted that I was doomed from the beginning when enrollment services completely screwed up my transcripts. Even though the application period reopens in one week (and they are JUST NOW sending out notifications) I'm not sure if I want to go through this agonizing process with UTMB again. And besides if I was rejected this time I'm not sure what would be any different the following semester. To those of you that did make the cut congratulations again and I wish you all the best in the program!

I would call the assistant dean and see if you can set up a meeting asap to find out why you were not accepted. What were your stats? She can suggest what to do differently or maybe even fix the problem!
