UTMB Spring 2012

Published

Hey Guys!

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all UTMB Galveston's Spring 2012 traditional bsn applicants. Have you all started to apply yet or at least looked at the application? What do you think? How are your personal statements/testing going? If you guys have anything worth discussing please post and good luck to all!

@krr I meant THEA not TSI

Hi I'm planning to apply to utmb next year and have a question. What is the difference between the fall and spring semester?

Well for now there isn't a spring semester for traditional students. If you're rn-bsn or already have a degree, the spring semester is 3 semesters for degree holders and two for rn-bsn. For the fall only bsn and rn-bsn's can apply and again the rn-bsn is two semesters and bsn is 5. hope this helps

Oh ok thanks. I was actually looking at the program plan and could not understand if the spring was faster than the fall or not (it seems to be a little bit faster). The summer program plan hasn't been updated yet.

The next summer program they have is for Summer 2013 and is 4 consecutive semesters and is for bsn only. For the rn-bsn no matter the semester they will be 2 semesters in length. So it depends on your situation

What? There is a spring semester for traditional BSN students...that's what we've all applied for.

Sorry I'm talking about past this semester. The deadline has already gone for this spring so we're speaking future spring semesters

Lol oh I gotcha! I was just very confused!

lol, sorry i wasn't clear

Thanks, but just out of curiosity what is the difference between the semester you all have applied for and the fall one? I understand that the spring is no more, but it's just a fyi for me.

Spring semester is exactly the same as fall semester as far as the classes you take. If you start in spring semester, you will be at school straight through the summer semester instead of the people that start in the fall who have summer off. After the summer semester, spring and fall students will both be on their third semester of nursing school and will all graduate together at the end of the following spring. Basically, people who start in the spring finish in less time than people who start in the fall because they go to school during summer. Hope this helps!

So out of all the posts I've read, league city is the most convenient? I'm from San Antonio and will have to go out there to look around the area. Also interview for admissions isn't mandatory, right? I was looking at their admissions process and didn't see interview listed.
