Hey Guys!

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all UTMB Galveston's Spring 2012 traditional bsn applicants. Have you all started to apply yet or at least looked at the application? What do you think? How are your personal statements/testing going? If you guys have anything worth discussing please post and good luck to all!

If I remember correctly there wasn't a specific topic. It was just a 'supporting statement' of why you want to be a nurse, etc.

No I haven't heard anything, I'm going to call tomorrow, but this late, I doubt I'll get in. Were you still working on pre-reqs last semester?

nutrition, sociology and patho. but i never sent my final grades because I was on the waitlist. But now i'm thinking that that was a mistake and maybe that's why I haven't gotten a call. :/ did u send your grades as soon as they came out?

No I didn't... I just thought they would ask for them once you were accepted but maybe ur right! I think its hopeless now though, the letter said if we didn't get a call by today it was unlikely a spot would open up ):

I received my acceptance email yesterday! I have following this forum for a while and I lost hope, so it was a big surprise! Since I didn't get a chance to go to the orientation, can someone let me know what information was passed during the orientation? Also, I know there is a facebook page- what is the title of the page? I am really excited for this Monday, it seems so rushed but I have waited so long that I am definitely ready!

I know that it is a long shot that any of you guys still check this thread but I've got to try. I received the Nursing Excellence Scholarship and was curious of how much it is. UTMB said they would tell me once I enroll but I would really like to know so I can make up my mind between schools. I have a scholarship offer to TWU as well and am trying to make a wise and calculated decision. Finances are a big deal for me so this will weigh heavily in my decision. Have any of you received this scholarship or know someone who did, and what the scholarship covers? Thank you!
