UTHSCSA - UT Health Science Center San Antonio - Spring 09

Published

Sorry I didn't want this post to get mixed up with the other thread haha it's so long.

Anyways wondering if anyone else applied for the Spring 09. Im also wondering if its worth buying the study guide for the TEAS that they are selling and what kind of questions they ask you in the interview.

I'm so nervous because mine is coming up!

-Thanks Duc

Has anyone heard anything more about registration???

Nothing yet. We are supposed to be getting our registration packet before the end of this week.

Hey, did anyone receive the next packet of info yet or know when they are sending them?? Thanks!

Sorry my bad! This was already asked. HAHA:bugeyes:

Specializes in ICU.

Still nothing in the mail haha I gotta mail my Immunization record still :-(

Specializes in Cardiac ICU.

I have a question:

Did you guys all either get the titer for chicken pox or have the immunizations? I had chicken pox when I was little so the titer would work for me, but I found one that costs $56. Anyone do it for cheaper?? I wish my Dr. could just sign off that I have had it.

I had the titer done. You might want to check to see how much it is at the Student Health Clinic at UTHSCSA. But $56 sounds pretty reasonable.

I just got the registration packet. So y'all should be getting it today (or sometime very soon) too.

Pookster84,

Can you tell me where you found the titer for $56?? Thats actually really good! The Health Center at UTHSCSA charges $20 to draw blood and $102 for lab work!! I also called the Texas Med Clinic and its over $100 also!!

Lily,

Ouch on the UTHSCSA costs! I misquoted, it was $52, but that was at the U of H health center, so unless you're a student there... I'd check county health clinics, you might be able to find it cheap there if they do titers??

Depending on who you talk to, they might do it at a discounted rate if you tell them you're doing it for nursing school...again, if they even do labs like titers. Sorry I'm not more help.

wow i wish i got the chicken pox as a kid b/c the titer sounds cheaper. i'm getting the 2 shots for around $125 each.

Thanks Pookster, I will definitely check out some other local clinics... I might just have to suck it up and pay.

Hopefully it at least comes back positive and I don't have to get the immunizations!! I'm assuming it will since I had it as a kid but I've heard of a couple that didn't!! I'll keep my fingers crossed...
