Sorry I didn't want this post to get mixed up with the other thread haha it's so long.

Anyways wondering if anyone else applied for the Spring 09. Im also wondering if its worth buying the study guide for the TEAS that they are selling and what kind of questions they ask you in the interview.

I'm so nervous because mine is coming up!

-Thanks Duc

Haha Im not alone! I think im going to buy the test booklet or whatever it's called online. GL on your interview its before mine!

Hi I just started NS this fall. When I got my interview letter it was too late to order the ATI study book, so I ended up going to Borders and studying Kaplan's NET study guide. I focused a lot on the math because it was my weak point and I did fine. Just let me know if you guys have any more questions. I know I was really nervous before the test but afterwards I realized it wasn't that bad. :specs:

Sorry I forgot to mention about the interview. Everyone is extremely nice and all they really ask is why you chose nursing, how you study, and how u manage your time.

aznpayr99 when is your interview?

oh ok sweet deal, i just wasn't sure if they grilled you about stuff or if it was just casual lol, so thanks for letting me know.

do y'all know what kinda score they're looking for?

Well SenoritaM I was wondering how the test is. Like how in depth it goes into science and math. (im currently studying the kaplan book and physical science is not my cup of tea hahaha) Do you think the kaplan book is enough or should I just buy the book they listed?

My interview is on sept 17th! GL on yours since it's before mine! Hmm how do you know if you get accepted into the bacc2 program?

Also how are classes there?

The test includes conversions, ratios, multiplications, division, simple algebra. All the math on the test was on the Kaplan. I even think some of the math in the Kaplan was harder. As far as science the Kaplan does a good job but it did have a geology question that I remembered from like the 5th grade - yeah it was weird, and I heard the Kaplan and TEAS study guide were about the same in science. It does have chemistry like mass number, atomic weight. I think the Kaplan was enough for me, but I also only had 5 days to study. I made an 84 and I guess that was enough. :wink2: It was exactly 1 month after my interview that I got my acceptance letter in the mail. The classes are big 120-130 students but the teachers are all great and the big classes aren't an issue at all. For labs and clinicals you break up into smaller groups.

oh ok.. yea well good luck on your interview too :)

SenoritaM,

Do you happen to know what the average TEAS score was for your class? I'm also wondering what the average GPA and TEAS score was for the people that got accepted into the accelerated program. Also, I heard that they schedule interviews based on GPA. Do you know if that's the case?

Thanks.

I think my GPA was a 3.3 when reviewed and I got a interview... haha im doing the kaplan test and my scores in vocab/spelling are killing me sigh...

My family is making fun of me.. I live in Houston and everyone is all about the hurricane... so the lights went out at 6pm yesterday night and im still in my room doing a practice test ahaha and everyone is standing outside watching the crazy wind..

Well its the next day and everyone is just happy the storm is over.. but im not sure how my Mom's house in galveston is doing so wish it luck... Im worried but as of right now im still studying hahaha freaking out right now...

Oh yeah and SenoritaM said she made a 84 and got in so im trying to aim for mid 80's haha

I believe the average score for the TEAS was an 85. In my group the highest score was a 89. No they don't group you my gpa. It's random.
