Sorry I didn't want this post to get mixed up with the other thread haha it's so long.
Anyways wondering if anyone else applied for the Spring 09. Im also wondering if its worth buying the study guide for the TEAS that they are selling and what kind of questions they ask you in the interview.
I'm so nervous because mine is coming up!
-Thanks Duc
Talk to the nurs dept...they said we will receive our clinical dates/lab times later on. Im guessing during our orientation or our instructors...also we have to wait to get more info from the Registrars office before we get our ID and Parking permit. So no need to get those things done just yet..
Thanks Pookster! It makes me feel a little better to know I'm not the only one who hasn't registered! I actually just got my titer done for Varicella too...I had it when I was a kid so hopefully it stuck! I did it at the Student health Center there on campus though and she told me if it comes back negative not to worry, they will clear my hold even if classes start before its finished...Thankfully!!! I was a little worried
Time is Flying!!! We start classes in 7 weeks!!! AHHHHH!!!
Rfs2886,
I was told that they will be sending that information in the mail. So I am assuming they will send us the info soon. I guess it wouldnt hurt to try and get your ID and permit, but what I was told pretty much we have to wait. You never know, Im sure there will be something else we would need to do there involving driving to the campus. lol
Anyone feel the impeding doom of costs? Or are my calculations just crazy haha...
I looked at the chart they have with the cost of attendance. YIKES! I'm jealous of you accelerated people, if for nothing else, for the $$ you'll save getting out quicker, plus getting a job 6 months earlier!
I hate that those of us who are getting our 2nd bachelors can't get federal grants. I'm so sick of student loans...
Yeah so, 13 hours at 160 per hour is a little more than 2k...
and yeah what UT said... Plus apts/food(which is probably where 50% of my money goes hahahaha)/gas and various partying and booze.. haha
Never really had to take out loans before and I suck at coming up with figures.
1.) rent about 600 per month (18 months = 10.8k)
2.) tuition about 160 per hour (60 hours = 9.6k)
puts me at about 20k in the hole... without other variables... ohh boy...
If you go to the Financial Aid site, on the right you can click on a link for "cost of attendance & disbursement dates." Here's the link:

So they include housing, etc in the chart, which makes it look worse than it really is if you are already paying for housing wherever you are now. What the heck the "designated tuition" and those other weird things are is beyond me. The average debt that a student has when they finish their undergraduate degree is about 20k, so if y'all don't have any debt up until now, don't worry. You'll be just like the average student, but with above average starting pay (most likely).
Happy Thanksgiving!
Im not looking for a roomate, but after extensive apartment searching in the medical center and talking to many medical students, I would stay away from vintage. When I went there it was really really expensive and really really not worth the money. It is pretty on the outside, but it kinda gross on the inside.
I have heard really good things about Carlyle Place. Also, look at Whispering Creek. Thats where I am going to live. It is really close to campus and you can avoid traffic. There are tons of medical students there also.
Good luck finding a roomie!

I already completed the training. It doesn't take that long.
