Hi everyone, I just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON students who are applying for Summer 2017. I didn't see a thread created for this term yet. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin this long journey. Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!
Oh okay, thanks. The portal has transcript listed on my to-do list 3 times which is weird. One of them never came off after my spring application and 2 are from this application period. Not sure why...
Hawkins, mine has the exact same thing ! I'm still taking a class for spring so I know my transcript request will continue to stay until it's done , but I currently have that one for summer and two more for the same school for fall... so I have 3 transcript requests in my room do list haha
So they make a transcript evaluation for anyone who has HESI scores that are competetive, but the admissions board decides who they will actually send them to or not. (It seems as though people with all of their requirements fulfilled usually do not receive them). They are completely arbitrary.
Hi guys. I'm currently a student in my first semester at UTHealth SON. I also have a few friends that have gone through the program, so if anyone has any questions about the process of being admitted or the program in general please feel free to ask. Good luck to you all!
Thank u so much for willing to help us. I got 3.9 GPA and 88 HESI but I got 72 on my grammar. So do u think I will have chance? Do u know anybody failed one session and get in program? Thank u
It's a form that they are supposed to send out to everyone who applied. It shows which prerequisite requirements were satisfied, also your calculated overall, prerequisite and science GPA. The form is just for your reference to let you know what your stats for admissions are, also which courses they counted toward prerequisite requirements and which they didn't.
Looks like I got something else to call and pester them about. Will probably be giving them a ring on Monday. I have yet to receive a transcript eval.So they make a transcript evaluation for anyone who has HESI scores that are competetive, but the admissions board decides who they will actually send them to or not. I haven't either. Maybe it just hasn't arrived yet? They seem to be difficult people to get ahold of. If you do, please share! I'm planning on going to the information session on Wednesday. Hopefully they give some valuable info there.
Hey guys just thought I'd let you know I received my transcript evaluation yesterday on Saturday. Looks like all but my American government class from out of state did not transfer.
My question to you guys is, since spring already started it's too late to enroll in American government here. Does this mean I have no chance of getting in for the summer program at Uthsc since it states ALL classes must be completed prior to admission?

That is correct. I ran into the same issue when i misread the 40 hour admission/application rule. I thought it meant you could be admitted so long as 40 hours were complete, but thats not the case. I wont have my statistics class completed in time, but I applied anyway. As for your governent classes, I would call and talk to them and plead your case. If they are truly American government classes, there is a good chance they were misread or overlooked. It has happened to others in the past and they have had their classes corrected. You may still be ok.

I will be going as well!
