  1. It is totally up to you. They have minimum requirements which you're on track to meet, but realize several of those applying may have more classes completed giving them an advantage. I had all of my courses completed long before I applied, and many of my classmates did too.
  2. Before our semester began we were told the majority if not all of the accepted students will have their pre-requisites completed prior to starting and a lot prior to applying. It's very competitive and they will go with someone that has completed all their courses already considering all other things equal.
  3. Congrats on the acceptances so far. I just finished my first semester and am more than happy to answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability. I don't check here often, but you can reach me at [email protected] since I check my email regularly. -Brandon
  4. Sorry for the late reply...I'm just now seeing this. We're only a month in, but so far so good. The program is well organized which is opposite of some of the other programs I looked into.
  5. That is it. If they already have transcripts and test scores on file you don't need to worry about them.
  6. You will be required to take the Texas Government pre-requisite. I'm pretty sure it is a requirement at every school in Texas.
  7. I was accepted to 3 ADN programs...Alvin, San Jac, and Blinn. Alvin and San Jac are somewhat local to me, but San Jac was my last choice. Blinn would also require a move, but that's where I earned my first associates degree and my wife graduated from their nursing school 17 years ago. I teach CPR daily and most of my students are either nurses or nursing students, so I learn a lot about all the various nursing schools. My wife also hears a lot working at the hospital, so I knew which schools to avoid. All that being said I chose Alvin. They were the most responsive during the application process and I've talked to dozens of people that have been through their program.
  8. Yes I've chosen to go to an ADN program closer to home. The time away from family or forcing them to relocate would not be fair, so I'm going to suck it up do what I think if best for them and I.
  9. I officially withdrew my acceptance today to the on campus program, so that should open up a spot.
  10. I officially withdrew my acceptance today, so that should open up a spot.
  11. Yes...I was accepted to Alvin, Blinn, San Jac, & UTA.
  12. Probably Alvin. Still have Blinn & UTA on the table, but I'm not liking the thought of being away from my wife & kids all week or relocating everyone.
  13. I'm guessing that the majority of applicants don't need a D.O., and several have no idea what a D.O. is before applying. I knew I didn't need one, so my background check didn't take long at all... maybe a couple weeks.
  14. Congrats. I officially sent the email this morning declining my spot at San Jac too. I am leaning 80% towards Alvin, but have a few things to work out before being 100% on board.
  15. Just an FYI for those on the wait list, I will be declining my acceptance so that should open up one spot.
