UTHSC (Houston) Spring

Published

This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)

I'm applying with the following stats:

Pre-req GPA: 3.21

Science GPA: 3.66

Overall GPA: 2.81

I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)

Good luck to everyone!!

Just talked to a BSN advisor......the ones that were out recruiting yesterday (ugh!), she said that acceptance/denial letters would NOT be mailed until mid November, so for us to stop stalking the mailbox and enjoy our Halloween, lol :) letters aren't coming in October.

Then I asked about my application. She said IF your application meets all of the requirements (over 40 hours completed, Hesi scores, GPA etc.) then your application WILL get reviewed. I was worried about my UTLink saying "documents not received".

Hang in there everyone. We have at least 5 weeks to go. I've already gained 10lbs and my hair is falling out from all of this stress. By the time November gets here, I'm gonna be a giant bald blob!! Hey, maybe that can be my Halloween costume:)

I know the letters won't be mailed out until Nov. 15, but I'm sure they'll update our stats on UTlink sooner, as they've done since atleast Spring 2010.

LOL. Deep breaths, katy! You must save your stress for when you're in the program. :dzed:

I agree with encephalon7...I think we will see it on the UTlink by mid-October. At least I hope so!!!!!

I agree with Encephalon too. ;)

I'm wondering how much time passed between applicants utlink changing AND receiving their acceptance letters? I'm guessing utlink changed way before acceptance letters were sent.

I see that you applied to Lonestar also. Are you gonna pick Lonestar or stick with UT??

Chunky, it was almost a month for me. I think it was a similar amount of time for the other people who posted on our AN thread. It might be shorter for you since the SON is only working on your class. Last spring, the SON was doing admits for both my class AND the Bacc2 class that started last summer.

rocket surgery - I sent an email to you on here about some questions I had!

Mag, I got it! :)

I'm getting ready for my 1st clinical today :w00t: so I'll write you back later tonight. I've talked about some of your questions in some of my previous posts- go back to page 28 and then read forward and look for some of my longer ones- I think those should answer about half your questions.

@Chunkey, UTHSC is my 1st choice by FAR!!!! I only applied to Lonestar as a backup to my backup plan. If I don't get in for the spring semester, then I'm going to finish my undergrad degree at UTA (I only need 21hrs to graduate), and apply to the Bacc2 and traditional programs in the fall.

Best luck and wishes to all applicants!!!! I have been stalking the mailbox just like everyone else ....... like everyone UTHSC is my first choice as well and i only applied to PVAMU HOUSTON as my backup ........... although i would love to go to UT if I get into my backup i would still be overjoyed!!!!
