Hello friends!
I'm creating this as a communication board for new students/applicants to talk on about:
A quick intro-- My name is Maira and I've followed previous threads on here and I love how much information you can get from it! (I followed and read ALL of UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016)
I'm applying at UThealth for the nursing pacesetter program for Spring 2017. The application is due by Aug. 15 and I haven't submitted it yet because I haven't taken the HESI! I'm getting anxious about taking it, have any of y'all taken yours yet?!
Also, I've been meaning to stop by the school and see if my pre-reqs meet their requirements. I'm a bit confused on whether they will average 2 scores of the same class or not. For instance, a long time ago I took a English course and got a F (I was careless and young) and now I retook it and got a A. Another thing that I've been wondering about is what exactly the 5 hours of "electives" are-- will they accept a math class for it?
Well I look forward to meeting all of you!!!! Good luck!!!!
Not to be pessimistic, but I've literally read the entire thread for the past Spring, Summer, and Fall admission periods, and there's always a pattern. Acceptances and waitlist notifications go out within the first 4 business days and the rest are usually denials. Sometimes they wait until the very last day to send out the denials (Nov. 15th for us). I would LOVE to be wrong, but unless they're changing things up, it seems likely that they will follow this same pattern.
I have been a wreck over this since last Thursday because I DID NOT want to have my career plans pushed back even further. I'm beginning to realize there's not much I can do about it. I'm going to go ahead and submit an application for Summer, but the rest is out of my hands. Good Luck to everyone on the waitlist and congratulations to those who have been accepted... You did it!

I really will not understand if you do not get in AHawkins....your stats are awesome! Worse case scenario, apply for summer, and I can be there to give you advice and help :)

Do you mind me asking what were your stats?
I will go ahead and do the same AHawkins . Is there a thread for Summer yet?
Do we have to re submit everything? or will they already have transcripts and HESI scores from this round?
wickedstar21 I feel ya! We just sold our house and the new house is not ready yet. We are in a temporary apartment and it is STRESSFUL to say the least.
I'm in the same predicament. Actually worse, I plan on applying for Summer and Fall, however, many schools have fall deadlines that have passed or are quickly approaching. At what point do I decide this means enough to me to uproot my entire life again? At what point do I start looking at schools outside of Houston? It's taken me 3 years to stabilize myself, have a job that can support my mother and I, and finally move into a nice place and buy furniture. I don't think I can uproot and move to another metropolitan area much less cross country again.
I'm just heart-broken.
