Hello friends!

I'm creating this as a communication board for new students/applicants to talk on about:

  • Current GPA -- science & overall
  • Requirements needed to apply
  • HESI test requirements
  • Applications -- status or general info
  • Acceptance!

A quick intro-- My name is Maira and I've followed previous threads on here and I love how much information you can get from it! (I followed and read ALL of UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016)

I'm applying at UThealth for the nursing pacesetter program for Spring 2017. The application is due by Aug. 15 and I haven't submitted it yet because I haven't taken the HESI! I'm getting anxious about taking it, have any of y'all taken yours yet?!

Also, I've been meaning to stop by the school and see if my pre-reqs meet their requirements. I'm a bit confused on whether they will average 2 scores of the same class or not. For instance, a long time ago I took a English course and got a F (I was careless and young) and now I retook it and got a A. Another thing that I've been wondering about is what exactly the 5 hours of "electives" are-- will they accept a math class for it?

Well I look forward to meeting all of you!!!! Good luck!!!! :inlove:

@AMCH there is a Summer thread, and no they already have everything. I asked the school, you fill out a new application, pay the fee, and then they link your account.

Hi Everyone,

I have been following this thread for awhile now but finally decided to comment. I also yet to receive anything! I'm so upset . I have had so many setbacks and yet here is another . So I guess Summer 2017 it is .

My stats are:

HESI overall : 92, with a 100 in A&P

Critical Thinking: 900

GPA: 3.8

Not sure what my science gpa is, but I only got 1 B and it was in Chemistry .

campos08 - Your stats are really good. Are you on the waitlist? Maybe you will get in that way. Your stats seem better than some of those already admitted. Now I am really confused - I had assumed it was a numbers game with some computer picking out the most qualified candidates. Best of Luck - this is just so frustrating....

@campos08 it seems to me that there's something else they are looking at and they are not telling us. My friend las cycle had a 4.0 gpa + 96 Hesi etc...and she still did not get it. I haven't called her yet to see if she apply this cycle.

I think you guys need to relax.

There is no way all the acceptance are sent out.

You know they don't have all the admission people just dedicated to us.

There are multiple schools and programs like RN-BSN, MSN etc

And honestly not hearing anything atleast you can hope and prat there is nothing definite.

You just gotta well... leave it God and at the end whatever is best for ya'll will happen.

Thank you! No I'm not even waitlisted !! I have not heard a single thing , I never received a transcript evaluation either !

@wickedstar21 . What ! 4.0 and 96 overall in HESI and she did not get in . There is definitely something we are not being told. I think they may be looking for people who already have a previous bachelor's degree, which is not fair ! I have only been dedicated to nursing nothing else !

No, I was told yesterday that my previous degree is not counted in any shape, way, or form.

I believe UT already sent out all of the acceptances. People that were accepted only have 10 days to either accept or decline. Once those 10 days are up, then they move on to the waitlist, and pick from there to fill any vacancies.

so, UT sent acceptances on the 20th and 21st. That means, waitlisted people will find out by the 1st or 2nd of November to see if they got in.

it is all in God's hands. I know is tough, but we need to be prepare for anything.

Specializes in IMCU/PCU.

I wonder if they have a limit as to how many times you can apply.

Summer will be my third time.

1st in 2012

2nd Now

I don't think I could handle a third denial

@pappa22v . Oh okay, well good to know ! We can't discouraged guys ! Summer 2017 will be our time ! :) ... As much as I wish not all acceptances have been I'm quite sure they were all sent . Or else there would no wait list yet .

@amch There's no limit on how many times you can apply, if you got the money they will happily accept your application every time :) If I'm wrong on this I'd be floored!
