UT Houston Summer 2010 Accelerated Program

Hello All,

I am currently in the process of trying to get into the UT Houston Summer 2010 Accelerated program. I am not sure if there is a thread already started. But if there is not one I would like to start one. Hopefully we can use this thread and keep up with one another. Who else is hoping to get into UT Houston's Summer 2010 Accelerated program?

I think we're in the same boat. I had my application in by the December 1st deadline, but still have 2 prereq courses to complete this spring semester. But, this is what the web site says:

"]]To be considered, you must complete at least ,Bold],Bold]40 hours ]]of the required 60 hours of

prerequisite work by the program application deadline. ,Bold],Bold]8 hours]], of those 40 hours, must be

from the science prerequisites of:

Human Anatomy and Physiology

Microbiology

Chemistry

If you are admitted into the program ,Bold],Bold]ALL ]]60 hours of prerequisites must be completed by the

start of the program."

My concern is my low score on the reading portion of the NET exam. My gpa is fine and other parts of NET as well. I keep hoping that they are still sending out letters. If you look at last years threads for the accelerated program, the invitations came throughout the month of January. How did you do on the NET? Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Some people from last year's post called the school to find out about their interview status. They could have the wrong address or the wrong information for you. I think you should call the school/dean to find out if you were offered an interview.

Hi,

I have an interview on the 13th at 11:30. Seems like they have them scheduled over the next couple of weeks. Best of luck to everyone and look forward to meeting anyone scheduled this day.

Nursing Pre-reqs GPA = 3.88

Science = 3.75

NET

Math 93

Reading 73

Fizzlepop, hi, don't worry too much, I believe they are still sending out letters. As far as in-progress courses, I'm in the same boat. While I have completed all my nursing requirements, I still have three classes in progress before graduating in the spring. I have received a letter though, my interview is scheduled for tuesday @ 11:30am. I am a nervous wreck! I don't think my GPAs are strong enough too:

nursing-3.40

science-3.25

GPA-3.5

Net-85%

Math-100%

Reading-70%

I hope I have a chance because all I wonna do is be a nurse!

My stats are below. Is anyone else interviewing on the 12th?

Nursing pre-reqs- 3.58

Science - 3.70

Net Math - 100

Net Reading - 79

Anyone going on the 14th?

I was just looking at old post about interviews and boy am I really really nervous now! Still trying to figure out my outfit, i bought a really pretty turquoise peacoat that I want to wear with tan dress pants but other than that have no idea LOL should i even wear a coat since i will prolly take it off at some point?

Hi kjw2010,

I did pretty well on the NET, and my GPA is strong.

Math: 97

Reading: 82

Science GPA: 4.0

Pre- Reqs GPA: 3.8

I still haven't received a letter, so I think I'm just gonna call UT on Monday and see if they have any information ... hopefully good info. Have you heard anything yet?

Hi fizzlepop: I took 2 courses in the fall, have 3 courses to complete in the spring semester, and am interviewing the 19th. As long as they received all of the other requirements along with your application, you should be fine. I hope your interview invite arrives anyday!

My stats are:

Nursing GPA:3.607

Science GPA: 3.75

NET math: 100

NET reading: 82

I think they must still be sending out letters because I finally got one today ~ YEAH!! Your scores and grades are great so I am certain you will get a letter soon. Did you call today? If not, you may want to call and ask about the status of your app. Good luck!!!
