hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.
Can't wait to hear from others.
this is the way i have understood it as well. i'm pretty sure this subject was brought up a few weeks ago on this thread and the requirements and the actual form were attached to a post.
i emailed ut about this and was told the following (which didn't really answer the questions actually, but here it is)
[color=#244061]hi,
[color=#244061]the immunizations are only required if you are accepted into the school. for more information on the hepatitis series, please call ut health services for more information. if health services say that you are clear then you can start the program.

on that note, i have contact information for the health services department if someone wants to call and get a more straightforward answer.

OK! I found the pdf file which explains that HepB must only be STARTED prior to enrollment, not completed. It is number two on this list:

I hope this clears up everyone's confusion.

awesome thanks
From what I can determine, all incoming students must get a physical from UT Health Services, which includes a review of all vaccinations, and then if you are up-to-date and in good health they "clear" you for classes, which includes clinicals. Having the HepB series started is enough to get the all-clear.
Hey guys! I am in the program now (class of December 09) and I thought I would give you all a few tips. First, you do not have to get your check up from UT health. You just have to have your doctor fill out the paper work from UT. Second, about your vaccines, you MUST have your vaccines started (but not all of the series completed) and submitted BEFORE school starts. There will be a hold on your account and you cannot enroll until the vaccines are submitted. ALSO, if they offer you a "boot camp week" (the tried it out on our class) TAKE IT!! It will really open your eyes to what school will be like, and trust me, it is NOTHING like what you have had before. Hope this helps.
Well guys, I just want to wish all of you good luck. I thought about it, and I really don't think I want to go to UTHSC (great school, but they just didn't click with me). I withdrew my application today, so that's one less person to compete with. Good luck everyone! I'll still be reading the board as I keep my fingers crossed to get into UTMB. I can't wait to hear how you guys do :-).

I was born in 86 and just got off the phone with my doctor and I have had the Hep B vaccine and was told that I do not need to have it again.
