UT houston spring 2010 hopefuls

Published

hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.

Can't wait to hear from others.

How did you feel about the reading comprehension section? Any advice to taking that section?

For the reading part I read through the paragraph first then read the questions. If you purchase the study guide you already know what the questions are going to be. Read the paragraph with those questions in mind...Ie..main idea, theme, support questions

I had time left over to read through ones I was not sure about.

No I didnt leave in tears, but I was stressed. The ladies that proctored the exam made me the most nervous.... not the test. I felt like they were staring at me during the sections that you cant cheat on , like test taking skills. Geez.

I took it the same day so yes I know what you mean as far as the ladies not being so nice. They treated us like we were in boot camp. I am going to take your advice and not read the question first. The practice guide told us to but I am not going to waste time when there are only 4 variations of questions. Did you thoroughly read the paragraphs or skim? I think I was too methodical in my reading and it slowed me down

Ugh those ladies took freaking forever to start the test almost an hour just to bubble in your information omg and some people take too longgggg

I KNOW.... geez.... we know how to bubble in a scantron! We've taken standardized tests since we were in elementary school! They just had to tell us remember to bubble in all empty spaces and we would've been done with that part in 10 minutes. But anyways...i guess it's their job to do that.

So when they send the scores to UT electronically this coming friday, do you think it'll be posted online by then?

I read them thoroughly.. you will spend the same amount of time skimming and then having to go back and re-read. Just read it right one time. :wink2:

Hey emag I tried to schedule the test when I call pearson around 5ish they said my thing wasn't on eri file guess I have to wait a little longer

Hung- I dunno. I called ERI and they got my credit card info and gave me a customer number and a phone number. Tomorrow I have to call the number they gave me to pick a time. Its confusing...you pay through ERI and then contact Pearson.

Darla, Thanks!

Oh I know what you mean, I called ERI first and paid $100 bucks with my CC. They gave me a customer number and told me to call at 5pm. I guess cause I called Perason too early, because I called it the same day. The lady told me to wait 24 hours so I'll call tomorrow. Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it. And I also wonder if taking the NET twice affects you in anyway at UTHSC?

I am registered to take it at 8 am this saturday at the S.E. location. It is computer based test so practice reading off of the computer versus paper test. You also get your score immediately which is awesome in my opinion. I am borrowing my friends GMAT computer based software which has similar reading quesions.

Ugh I callled peearson again and they told me my name is not in the pearson system from ERI so they told me to call again. But I already paid 100 with my cc
