hi there, I'm a spring 2010 UT houston hopefull, I'm trying to see who else is embarking on this journey so we can support each other. I really enjoyed tracking the Fall 2009 class, and I hope we can do the same. I still have a few classes to take. I am currently taking chemistry. As of now my science GPA is 3.33, and overall gpa is 3.61. I am taking the net in May.
Can't wait to hear from others.
Ok guys! I just got back from taking my NET for the first time. Let me start by saying the math is incredibly easy. I purchased the ERI study guide and aced the reading on all of my practice tests. The practice tests have 20 question for 30 minutes. The REAL test has 33 questions for 30 minutes so needless to say I only got to question number 22 on the test. I had to guess on the remaining 11. Beware the timing they give you to train for the practice is not even close to the actual test. Did anyone else run into this problem? I know the ones I answered were correct but timing was the major issue. For those of you who already took it and completed all the reading in time please tell me your secret for answering those problems in less than one minute oer question. I have a 3.9 GPA and walked into that very confident and am desperate to know what I can do to get it done in time next go around. Please help me!!!!

I finished all the questions in the reading section. What I did was read the passage and then answer the questions. The book tells you to scan the questions and then read the passage, but there are only a few questions they could possibly ask. Why waste that time reading the questions?
I finished the entire section, but I was rushed at the end. With the last few passages, I just skimmed the section to get the general idea, then answered the questions. I kinda guessed/quickly answered just two questions...hopefully that didn't hurt me too much. Ah well...we'll see. No sense worrying about something that can't be changed. :wink2:
Is there a limit on how many times you can take it per application period?
Darla- the thread on this website called Fall 2009 UT Houston BSN applicants. Read through all of that and you will see who had what GPA...who got interviews and who didnt. Then from there you see who got in that was interviewed. From what I recall the Fall 2009 applicants who acutally got in had high GPA's and pretty good NET scores. I didnt see anyone get in that had less than a 3.4. I could be worng but chack out that thread and see.
Hung-am taking it through Pearson-View. Houston is full and you cant go take it in San Antonio unless you are applying to a school in S.A. Therefore, the Pearson View is the only option if you are applying for the Spring of 2010.

Yeah I called ERI this morning and see what was up, I was bummed I cannot take it due to full slot and not going to school in San Antonio cause I was going to make the drive down there, but I can take it with Perason-View? What is that? Can you post more info please?
My overall gpa 3.806
Science 4.00
Pre-Nurse 3.806
Math and everything else was a cake walk on the NET but reading was kicking me in the ass.
call the 800 number on the ERI website....explain to them the situation and tell them you need to register for the "Pearson View Through ERI". The take your payment over the phone today and give you a customer # and you call this seperate number tomorrow after 5 pm to set up the actual time. Its a computer based testing company so they have lots of dates available compared to the paper based NET. Hope that helps. The reading questions werent difficult to me...they were just way too fast. The ones I finished I felt good about I just didnt get very far. I was so upset when I left there...tears and all. Oh Well now I know to read a lot faster

i was taking it at 8:30, but then i changed it to 1pm. I didn't think i could get to bed early enough on friday night to feel rested and ready to get up at 7am sat, so i called in and asked if I could be moved to 1pm. :nuke: good luck on your test though!
