Hello Everyone!!
It is finally my time to post to this forum! EXCITING!!! I did not see a thread for Fall 2020 and I might be SUUUUPER early but man that nursing application process takes proper a year doesn't it?
I am done with all my general courses and TEAS except for nursing chem, one elective (health and human disease), Patho, Pharm, and Intro to Nursing. I plan to take CHEM 1451 and HEED 4312 in the Fall 19 semester, apply in January, and then while waiting on that, take Patho and Intro to Nursing in Spring 2020 and Pharm by itself in Summer 2020.
I have an A in Micro, A&P 1, and A&P 2. This has been a LOOOONG journey and I cannot wait to start!
Just now, Fil said:I had a question. I tried asking the program coordinator but she didn't give me a specific answer and just told me if the requirements weren't met it would result in being dropped from the program. I doubt anyone could answer this but it doesn't hurt to ask. For Hepatitis B immunizations, if one has already gotten both their first and second doses recently and has a POSITIVE titer (in total has had 5 doses so far throughout life, the 3 in childhood, and 2 recently) will it be acceptable to provide documentation for the positive titer and additional doses (3rd dose in progress and due in a month) or must ALL 3 doses be uploaded into the system? Will proof of 5 doses AND a positive titer be enough/acceptable or will that result in being dropped from the program because they need the third too and won't accept if it's in progress? OR if that's the case would it be possible to just upload the 3 from childhood and just upload the positive (uhh very high) titer? Do you think they'd notice ??
I would say they could not give you an answe because they have over 400 people to process.

Did you talk to the immunizations specialist?
I believe if you have that many vaccines on record, they're timed correctly, and a positive titer, you should be good to go.

Is the immunizations specialist the program coordinator (********) or is it just [email protected]? I asked the program coordinator but she didn't answer my question. I don't see why they would drop someone from the program if they are already showing immunity after second dose and have the third dose due in less than a month but I'm just scared of getting dropped because of that one minor thing

Did you get a titer drawn before you began this current series?
If you had a negative titer before you started this current (your 2nd) series, I think you will have to finish the 3-shot series and then show a positive titer, per the vaccine requirements. If you didn’t get a titer done before you started this current series, not sure what they’ll say.
Email your documentation and ask at [email protected]. The emails go to *****, and she’s very helpful... unless she’s one of the 2 staff currently reviewing InPlace submissions!

I mean we got answers to our immunization questions in a matter of hours or sometimes minutes back when we were doing all that. CONHI’s administration is just going to crap these days, minus a couple people.

I d say talk to *******....when it comes to Hep B, some people never become immune , even after vaccines....She was the one who told me about that and she is one of those people. My mom is midwife is is the same way too...When it comes to immunization ****** is the person to ask - when I was denied entry for Spring of 20 because had only 3 months to do Hep A vaccine I was told they dont accept the fast track hep A, several months later when I met Dr. ****** for a different reason she said this wasn't true - they PREFER you do the 6 month doses, but they would ve accepted a fast track immunization....a lot of the desk jockeys in the department have no idea what is going on and what changes have been made. Even the RN at the health center are not very competent...one of them couldn't do a sub Q shot in my arm and poked me 6-7 times and had t called a different one to do it in belly...I mean how hard is it to poke the skin of the belly?? She is a trained nurse??!
