University of Texas at Arlington Fall 2020 Cohort

Published

Hello Everyone!!

It is finally my time to post to this forum! EXCITING!!! I did not see a thread for Fall 2020 and I might be SUUUUPER early but man that nursing application process takes proper a year doesn't it?

I am done with all my general courses and TEAS except for nursing chem, one elective (health and human disease), Patho, Pharm, and Intro to Nursing. I plan to take CHEM 1451 and HEED 4312 in the Fall 19 semester, apply in January, and then while waiting on that, take Patho and Intro to Nursing in Spring 2020 and Pharm by itself in Summer 2020.

I have an A in Micro, A&P 1, and A&P 2. This has been a LOOOONG journey and I cannot wait to start!

Are you an admissions advisor? I thought I saw someone in that office with the same last name, but it could have been someone else.

Oops meant to quote @FutureNurseOrcutt

it was micro. I already took it in CC and got a 'B' grade. Micro and intro to nursing are the only B's I have. I actually had a better score before I took classes at UTA. I think it was a 7.65 or something. I'm not partnered, so that's another mark against me.

Don’t listen to 3/4 of the people on here. Anything above 7.5 for both on campus and AO will get you a great shot at being accepted.

Hopefully. I have been in limbo for too long!

It’s all good. All we can do is hope. I’m at a 7.667. I’ve been told I’m in the “most competitive “ range, but of course we won’t know until the end of next week. I could get waitlisted which would be cool as well. I’m sure a lot of people don’t have all the documentation ready. I was told last semester they dipped down into the 6 range because of that.

WOW!! Down into the 6 range? Was that campus, AO, or both?

That is what I heard by multiple sources. I’m not sure if it was one or the other or both. Either way, been told by multiple advisors that anything above 7.5 is considered very competitive. Of course the advisors don’t determine who gets in and who doesn’t. The deans and the directors do. Think positively.

What kind of documentation were people missing?

I believe it was a lot of immunization stuff which seems to be the case why most people have to turn down the acceptanceI believe it was a lot of immunization stuff which seems to be the case why most people have to turn down the acceptance
