Umson spring 2016 applicants

Published

Hello, all!

My name is Christina Smith! I know I started this thread a little soon, but I am sure others are just as anxious as I am about applying! I have submitted my application for the spring 2016 program :cat: I just want to post some background information about myself, and anyone who has been accepted to previous semesters can share some insight with me if the wish!

I have a 3.9 GPA. My science gpa is as follows:

A: A&P 1

A: A&P 2

B Micro (Which was taken in 5 weeks, do they view the length of the semester?!)

I have gotten As in all of my other courses, and just need algebra and chemistry (which I am taking together this fall.)

I have been a CNA for 2.5 years, and have worked as a med tech for 14 months, and have recently been employed by Carroll Hospital as a MED/SURG PCT.

I have not taken my TEAS, but have purchased a study guide and plan to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!

I was accepted into my community college's ADN program, but I want to step outside my comfort zone and head towards my dream school. I am so nervous!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I have already added them. Hopefully there was just a mere mistake. I heard from the CNL Spring applicants that they'll get notification for their financial aid packages around this week. I hope that is also true for us BSN students. It's assuring to know how much financial aid you can receive ASAP, so we can plan ahead

For those who have submitted their FAFSA, I have gotten reach of the financial aid counselor and was told that we will be receiving our awards by late this week or early next :)

I registered for SSIP on January 12th. Anyone else going on that day for Baltimore campus?

I'm scheduled for Dec. 17th

I wonder why nobody from the Baltimore Campus has reached out to me yet? Has anyone attending Baltimore been contacted by anybody to touch base about what is available? I know Shady Grove's program manager Kathy, contacted everyone in that campus by e-mail a couple of weeks ago.

Got the flu shot, TB skin test, and blood drawn for my titers today:yuck: Husband said, I look like a science experiment LOL :roflmao:

I don't know if it has to do with the fact that the technician had to stick me in both arms, since she couldn't get blood from the first arm:arghh:

@G>robin Did the admissions received your deposit and confirmation firm? It should show that it has been received in your SURFs account and then you should have gotten an email from them saying you are ready to go create your UMID and umd gmail account. That's all they sent me, I guess they don't send you a step by step process by email. Everything you need to know on what to do next should be in their website already for accepted students. I have already created my certified background profile and started downloading documents for clinical requirements.

By the way, for people who have been accepted to the Baltimore campus, I have made a group for us in Facebook! :)

Hey guys I just found out that a spot opened up for me at Towson University! So it looks like I'll be going there for the spring! :)

My Surfs does show they received my admissions deposit, but never received an email saying I'm ready to create a UMD gmail account. Would you happen to have the link? I did have a person in the FA department, say that they prefer us using our UMD e-mail, but I don't know how to access that:/ I'm currently waiting for a reply from the admissions office.

This is a helpful spreadsheet that is on the accepted students page:

I believe it has the link to create your email account. Financial aid is actually easy to reach via phone---unlike admissions in case you prefer to call.

This is another helpful site for technology questions related to just UMSON: https://www.nursing.umaryland.edu/technology/

Thank you so much for these links!:nailbiting:

Thank you so much for these links!

You're welcome! You actually have to figure out a lot on your own and be your own advocate...there's not a ton of information. The spreadsheet/list really helped me. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
