On average how long is the endorsement process for DC? Is it easy to obtain a temporary license? i originally applied to the Maryland BON for license but got offered a position in DC. I scheduled my NCLEX on Feb. 5 and I start Feb 26 which gives me exactly 3 weeks to get at least a temporary license so I can start working. Will that be enough time to obtain one? Once you find out you pass the NCLEX, do you have to wait for your license to be up in the MBON AND on the nursys website where the DC BON confirm? Or can I just give all my endorsement paperwork once I can lookup my license online in the MBON? sorry for all these questions. just trying to see if this is possible within a 3 week range. I'm really not trying to get my offer taken away from me because of a problem like this.

Hi you guys, I wanted to get more insight from both students and nurses when it comes to Med Surg class. Now we all know med surg can be very very stressful and difficult for some. and I wanted to ask if getting a C in med surg is not a great sign when applying to a masters or doctorate after a few years of working as a nurse? Will I not be competitive enough? it sucks because Med surg is 7 credits, my pathopharm class is worth 3, and my psych is worth 5 credits. I'm doing extremely well on both pathopharm and psych. However no matter how much I study, how much notes I take, and how much sleep I lose from the studying, all I keep getting are very low C's. Thankfully all you need is a C to pass but I'm extremely upset and frustrated that I'm not able to do much better

On the letter it just said to send all documentation before orientation. Now I'm not sure if they're talking about the SSIP orientation which varies because there are many dates on that one or the orientation on January 20 which is everyone. For me, I sent my transcript as soon as my final grades were posted.

I have applied to Towson and got accepted to the nursing program. never did I took global culture for a prerequisite and I did take US history but it was a prerequisite for my associates degree of general studies. The only difference I saw between both programs is the nutrition class is different. Towson didn't accept my nutrition for PGCC but accepted CSM health professional nutrition class so I had to take it there. In addition to the stats prerequisite, Towson makes you take both algebra and trigonometry or have the other option of taking just pre calculus. Umson only requires stats and algebra and that's it.

@G>robin Did the admissions received your deposit and confirmation firm? It should show that it has been received in your SURFs account and then you should have gotten an email from them saying you are ready to go create your UMID and umd gmail account. That's all they sent me, I guess they don't send you a step by step process by email. Everything you need to know on what to do next should be in their website already for accepted students. I have already created my certified background profile and started downloading documents for clinical requirements.

For those who have submitted their FAFSA, I have gotten reach of the financial aid counselor and was told that we will be receiving our awards by late this week or early next :)

Yeah, I have already added them. Hopefully there was just a mere mistake. I heard from the CNL Spring applicants that they'll get notification for their financial aid packages around this week. I hope that is also true for us BSN students. It's assuring to know how much financial aid you can receive ASAP, so we can plan ahead

Has anyone heard from the financial aid office yet? I already created my UMID account and while I was going through my account, I saw under the financial aid that I have an unsatisfied requirement that says FAFSA rejected. Is anyone else facing the same problem? I don't think any college could actually reject a student's FAFSA, could they? I'm really relying on financial aid for spring :/

As of now there is no FB group for our cohort in Baltimore. I was trying to make one for us but FB requires me to add a person that's already a friend of mine in FB to that group before I actually create it. If someone is willing to add me in FB, I can at least add one person to the group. You can message me and I can give you my FB name so I can get a group started for us :)

Admissions have started changing statuses for those who turned in their forms and deposits.

@cgardner8 I actually just visited the admissions office to drop off a copy because I was too paranoid as well since today was the deadline for me. They said they haven't updated anyone's yet. They are still in the process of receiving everyone's mail and to just check again on Thursday. Funny because while I was there, someone also called about their form and their status. We're not the only ones worrying about it haha

@kayrock thanks for the info. I'm not even sure if my mail was postmarked since I just dropped my form in any mail box, not the post office itself. Luckily, I made copies and I'm on my way to the school now and just dropping it off in person. I'm guessing the admissions office is very busy since I've been trying to call them since yesterday :/

Does anyone know if they have to receive it by the deadline or if the mail has been postmarked before the deadline?

For those who were accepted, have you guys received confirmation if they have received the form and deposit fee? i just called and found out they haven't received mine yet so now im getting a little worried since I mailed that out on the 23rd, before the holidays began. The deadline for me is on Wed :/ if they don't receive it by tomorrow afternoon, it looks like I may have to drive up there myself and drop it off (which is a long long drive T.T)
