My name is Christina Smith! I know I started this thread a little soon, but I am sure others are just as anxious as I am about applying! I have submitted my application for the spring 2016 program I just want to post some background information about myself, and anyone who has been accepted to previous semesters can share some insight with me if the wish!
I have a 3.9 GPA. My science gpa is as follows:
A: A&P 1
A: A&P 2
B Micro (Which was taken in 5 weeks, do they view the length of the semester?!)
I have gotten As in all of my other courses, and just need algebra and chemistry (which I am taking together this fall.)
I have been a CNA for 2.5 years, and have worked as a med tech for 14 months, and have recently been employed by Carroll Hospital as a MED/SURG PCT.
I have not taken my TEAS, but have purchased a study guide and plan to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!
I was accepted into my community college's ADN program, but I want to step outside my comfort zone and head towards my dream school. I am so nervous!!!!!!!!!
So I stumbled about another UMSON thread and it was for Spring 2010. But seems like most of those applicants didn't start hearing back until November 20th... Mind you, it was about 6 years ago from now so I'm not sure how accurately it portrays our current application cycle.
I actually enjoy checking allnurses :) I don't bother with SURFS, as I know someone will post on here as soon as he/she hears something! I like to check this site because it makes me feel more at ease that others feel the way I do..I honestly don't think I am even going to be anxious next week! As soon as someone on here hears something, that is when I will probably go into panic mood, lol
It's like watching water boil. I figure if I pay it no mind then time will go by faster and out of the blue maybe something will happen. First week I kept refreshing this page to see if anyone had a change. Now I won't check unless I get notified.LOL
That is my logic!! If I just act as though I am not waiting for anything, then it will come faster. And, quite frankly, it has kind of helped. Time is moving fast and I am focusing on the things that matter (at this time). However, it still bothers me that we probably will have 2 months to pay tuition, buy supplies and books, and so-on..And with the holidays right around the corner, that is really not right. I don't have children, but what if I did? Ugh, I understand we do not get to determine everything, but they should put themselves in our places! But, regardless, when/if I get an acceptances, I will be happy, REGARDLESS of the date!!
Yea I have 2 kids and we've already discussed how our holidays are going to go. There won't be much of anything. For me tuition isn't an issue but other things like supplies and books.. OMG books. SMH. Like I won't have much to spread the cheer. LOL. But we'll still have a great time, it will just be hard especially trying to visit family.
So I just called UMSON and asked when decisions will go out because I have to make a deposit for another school by tomorrow. The woman on the phone said decisions will not go out any sooner than mid November and that they will likely go out in the next week or so. By the tone of her voice I got the impression "or so" means it will be later than next week. I personally think it's incredibly rude for them so wait so long to release the decisions, but it is what it is. So I guess I will stop checking SURFS until late next week
