Hi People
I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.
I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.
I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!
hey hi, when will you take your osce? are you under any agency or you are processing it by yourself? if you are processing by yourself, can u please tell me what are the steps in taking it? i mean, the visa going to UK,did you resign if you have work? do you have an employer already who will finance your OSCE? and once you pass, are you gonna stay in UK to immediately proceed to employment?thank you and i will really be grateful for your reply
Hi.
I already have an agency. My employer will fully finamce my OSCE and they will be the one who will book it for me. As of now, they haven't booked my OSCE because they will wait for me to get to UK and take my exam within 3 months. After your receive your DL, the agency would usually instruct you to do your medical check-ups like the TB test at IOM manila and an accredited POEA clinic for the other physical exam. But it also depends on your agency. Some agency have their own accredited clinics. From what I know, the requirements needed for visa are the Certificate of Sponsorship and the IOM TB certificate. The certificate of sponsorship will be given by your employer because they will be the one who will apply in the Home Office in UK. :)
Grace,
Do you have a practice development team in your hospital?
I'm sure they would be very happy to provide you with some scenarios in an OSCE style and offer you feedback on your performance so that you can make any improvements and increase your confidence. They may even support you with cost...or set up a salary sacrifice arrangement so that you pay over the course of a year for example.
what is the NMC's view on people not having 450 practice hours as a Registered Nurse in the previous three years? Did they ask you about this?
Hi guys, I am a newbie also on this thread and I am having problems with my NMC application. It already has been reviewed twice by the NMC though different issues were raised. First, they requested me to resubmit my 2nd referral form because I entered a non-nursing related employer. Then, I received another email requesting me to upload my certificate of graduation though I already uploaded them a DFA certified copy of my transcripts and qualification stating the date of my graduation. It usually takes them a month to review my application again. Would they process my application faster if I call or email them?

How long have you been waiting? On the other thread they call and ask NMC about their application and get a feedback directly. I too have been asked to resubmit regarding my employer and I am still waiting for the feedback.
@MelcahusseyYes, I am a Filipino and I'm still here in Phils. Well, I was put on queue last November 27. I received an email from NMC December 14 asking me to resubmit/reupload my police clearance and birth certificate. I re-uploaded those documents immediately and submitted it on the same day. Then just yesterday, I got an email from them saying I can now move on to the 2nd part of the test of competence (OSCE).
I kept on sending them emails regarding my status. That's what I did. Just be patient. I think another one in this forum got her/his DL after 18 days as well..
